In a surprising turn, the actress famously known for her role in a memorable James Bond sequence was barely recognizable during a seldom-seen appearance in Los Angeles this past week.
On Monday, I stepped out with an effortless charm, dashing off to tackle my errands at our beloved local shopping center.
She’s most recognized as a former beauty pageant winner who later gained fame as an actress, following her high-profile role in a legendary film series.
Back in 1960, she was a semifinalist for Miss Universe and the titleholder for Miss Israel.
60 years ago, I portrayed a captivating brunette in a 007 movie, sharing the screen with Sean Connery as James Bond and the elegant Tatiana Romanova, a past Bond girl of the series.
Can you guess who she is?

She’s Aliza Gur!
The renowned Israeli actress, currently aged 85, achieved her greatest recognition for portraying the character Vida in the James Bond movie, “From Russia with Love,” which was released in 1963.
She played a young woman in a Gypsy tribe that Sean Connery’s James Bond encounters at one point.
At that moment, she was twenty-three years old and portrayed the role of a fiery brunette, locked in a dispute with another woman, both vying for the same man, while dressed in green attire.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reminisce about that unforgettable moment when the captivating brunette beauty took on the role of a fiercely jealous Gypsy girl, vying for the affection of the chief’s son alongside another enamored Gypsy maiden. What a scene to behold!
Life contends with Zora – it is Martine Beswick who portrays the lady adorned in red – to decide which woman will win the honor of marrying the chief’s son.
Sixty-two years later, she was spotted on a rare and casual outing in Los Angeles.
During her errands, she injected an element of glamour into her style by sporting a rhinestone-encrusted baseball cap and donning extra-large, rosy-tinted shades.

She exuded an effortless blend of comfort and elegance, wearing a dark blue T-shirt combined with sleek, black satin trousers, and adding a touch of glamour with her flashy jewelry.
She displayed shimmering silver nail polish adorned with large gemstones on the ring fingers of both hands – her left and right.
Her manicure featured a sparkling silver metallic shade, embellished with big gemstones placed on the ring fingers of both hands.
She was spotted strolling through the shopping center in Mary Jane-inspired sneakers.
She carried a leather shoulder bag with a snake pattern after buying some electronics during her shopping trip.
During the peak of her professional journey, Gur earned the title of a beauty pageant winner and gained recognition as an actress, particularly for her captivating roles in action films and suspenseful dramas from the 1960s.
Gur is an artist with a military background, having served in the Israeli army as a skilled combatant. Additionally, he mastered five languages, delved into psychology, and explored drama during his school years.
She is fluent in German, English, Hebrew, French and Italian.

Among her prominent pieces are A Place to Go (published in 1963), The Beauty Jungle (1964), Night Train to Paris (1964), Agent for H.A.R.M. (released in 1966) and Kill a Dragon (1967).
The following year, she also starred in The Hand of Night as well as Tarzan and the Jungle Boy.
In 1964, she tied the knot with Seymour ‘Sy’ Schulman, a director at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital (who had already lived 14 more years than her), but they parted ways again in 1977 following a divorce.
As a die-hard devotee, I can’t help but share the tale of my journey, where I found myself tying the knot with none other than Sheldon Schrager, a legendary film producer and VP at Columbia Pictures. This union flourished from 1978 until we parted ways in 1996 after our divorce.
She is a mother of one son from her first marriage.
