Giacomo Mancini, renowned for his role in Top Boy, recently became a father for the first time, welcoming a baby girl into the world with his cherished partner, affectionately known as G.
On Saturday, the 30-year-old actor, known for portraying Gem in the acclaimed Netflix series, shared on Instagram that they welcomed a new addition to their family a week prior.
Besides posting numerous cute pictures of baby Giacomo, she also disclosed his name – Mia Bella Mancini.
As a devoted follower, I found myself admiring a little one swathed in a rosy cardigan, peacefully nestled within her Moses basket and later cradled on a father’s bare chest for a soothing slumber.
Giacomo titled his post, “August 9th, 2025… The Day You Stole Our Hearts. Moms and Dads adore you to the point of pain!
Enthusiasts and well-known acquaintances flocked to the comments, among them being Kierston Wareing, a former EastEnders actress and Top Boy co-star, who excitedly wrote: “Congrats!

Following his initial appearance on Top Boy, Giacomo has since been featured on shows like The IT Crowd, Ripper Street, and is now the lead in Amazon’s science fiction series Supacell.
Initially broadcast in 2011, Top Boy primarily featured little-known performers and presented an authentic and uncompromising portrayal of gang life on a challenging housing estate in Hackney.
Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson starred as drug dealers with a cast of mostly unknown actors.
Initially airing for two seasons on Channel 4, the show found new life three years later thanks to a push from Drake, ultimately leading to its continuation with an additional three seasons produced by Netflix. As a lifestyle expert, I’d say it’s always fascinating to witness the second chances that entertainment sometimes receives and how they can evolve over time.
It appears that the program has emerged as an ideal launchpad for budding British talents. Last year, Jasmine Jobson, who gained prominence on this show, clinched the Best Supporting Actress BAFTA award for her performance.
The young woman, who was raised in west London and entered foster care at age 14, expressed that the program significantly impacted her life.
Originally, I was simply a resident of West London who was striving to improve my circumstances and harboring optimistic aspirations for the future.
One day, she transitioned from working full-time at a bar and acting on the side, to acting as her main job. Now, acting provides for her living expenses. In essence, ‘Top Boy’ played a crucial role in her life, she acknowledged while receiving the award.

In the series, the actress, originally cast as Jaq, joined the show during its third season, following its rescue by Drake.
The first two seasons of the show aired on Channel 4 in 2011, before being dropped in 2014.
Three years on, the artist behind the smash hit “Hotline Bling” collaborated with Netflix to reboot the series. The new production features both a fresh acting ensemble alongside the original characters Dushane and Sully, portrayed by Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson respectively.
As an ardent fan eager to share a fascinating tale, let me regale you with my experience at BAFTA Television’s The Sessions in 2020. There, the mastermind behind our beloved series, Ronan Bennett, a venerable 68-year-old, shared a confession that left me utterly astonished. You see, when he was first approached by none other than the Canadian rap colossus, Drake, he confesses to being completely oblivious to his existence! Unbelievable, isn’t it? A testament to the power of art and music, even a legend like Ronan Bennett can be swept away in its captivating current.
After two triumphant seasons on Channel 4, the cancellation of Top Boy left me unable to just move on. It really struck a chord with me.
The sentiment was profoundly strong. There was a powerful sense of familial camaraderie among the actors, production team, and creators. It was a complex emotion that sometimes felt challenging to grasp.
Upon learning Drake expressed interest, I paid it relatively little attention, largely due to my unfamiliarity with him.
Only after our encounter at a later time did it become evident that he was genuinely sincere, and that there was a real possibility for us to move forward.
Ronan continued, “It seems we underestimated his size. In London, my team and I encountered him, and he was truly impressive.
He truly cared and had a deep affection for it, expressing only that he wanted us to continue doing what we do best. His intention was to serve as the spark to reignite our passion and provide any assistance needed in the process.
‘He didn’t want to control it, he wanted us to do the same thing again.’
