In a significant move for the expanding Texas entertainment industry, “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan and Paramount are teaming up to establish a large-scale production facility spanning 450,000 square feet in Fort Worth. This new campus is poised to make a substantial impact on the Lone Star State’s growing entertainment economy.
The new business project, disclosed on Wednesday, follows closely after Skydance’s $8.4-billion acquisition of Paramount. Simultaneously, Texas is making significant strides in promoting more movie production, having recently amended its film incentives program to a staggering $1.5 billion for the next decade.
A large-scale manufacturing facility will be established at the Alliance Texas campus, which spans over 27,000 acres. This expansive development is owned by Hillwood, a commercial and residential real estate firm run by billionaire Ross Perot Jr., who’s also involved in this project as a partner. The collaboration on this venture also includes Sheridan’s and Paramount Television.
As a devoted cinephile, I’m thrilled about the upcoming construction of the largest studio facility in our beloved state. This project, as stated by authorities, brings us one step closer to Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s ambitious vision – transforming Texas into the Film Capital of the World!
According to Hillwood President Mike Berry, we find ourselves at a crucial juncture where Texas could potentially take its place on the global stage in the film industry. With its ideal locations and abundant resources, North Texas has the potential to lead the charge in this growth and expansion.

Why are A-list Hollywood stars trying to lure film productions to Texas?
Originally skeptical towards Hollywood and perceived as financial aid for liberal causes, Texas has undergone a significant change, passing a law to offer $1.5 billion in incentives for film production over the course of the next decade.
The movie set, known as Campus, consists of two structures housing six soundstages capable of accommodating four major film projects at once. It’s anticipated that this location will serve as the primary studio for upcoming series like “Landman” and “Lioness,” both of which are currently being filmed in Texas.
The second season of “Landman” has been filming at the facility since March.
The move also marks a turning point for Sheridan’s productions.
As a cinephile with roots firmly planted in Fort Worth, I’ve had the pleasure of filming numerous critically acclaimed TV series – such as “1883” among them – right here in Texas over the past few years.
His work has generated billions for local businesses and attracted countless tourists, earning him a nickname in the industry known as “The Sheridan Phenomenon.
Taylor Sheridan emphasized in a statement that SGS Studios is not merely focused on sound stages and financial incentives; rather, it’s about reviving the original spirit of independence and raw energy that initially shaped this industry.
