After moving away from their luxurious life in Sydney, former footballer-turned-coach Sam Burgess and his wife Lucy have given a glimpse into their simple home in the UK.
In 2023, the previous NRL standout, known for playing with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, relocated his family, which included kids at that time, to England following his appointment as head coach for the Warrington Wolves in the Super League.
He swapped his luxurious high-rise apartment for a traditional red-brick house in Cheshire, as suggested by the photos Lucy, aged 33, posted on Instagram.
On Wednesday, the WAG shared a collection of pictures from a fun-filled kids’ playdate she hosted at her place, along with her friends.
Lucy, who has a one-year-old daughter named Robbie with Sam (age 36), and is expecting their second child, was spotted sporting a graceful white gown for the event.
She walked barefoot through her massive backyard as she made food and entertained her guests.
She extended invitations to Lindsey Johnston, Yeganeh, PR specialist Helen Stelling Holt, and Bridal PA’s CEO Amy Ramsey. These ladies each came accompanied by their children for a delightful pool gathering.
In my expert opinion, the event I’m referring to was more of a mini water escapade rather than a traditional pool party. Lucy and I, with help from Sam, transformed our modestly adorned backyard into a fun-filled kiddie water haven that day.
The couple’s red-brick terrace home is situated on a large plot of land.
The garden gradually slopes towards a compact terrace, adorned with a weathered picnic set and bare light bulbs for lighting during the evening.
Through a set of wide bi-fold doors, a spacious lounge room could be seen with a flat-screen TV.
The family home is a far cry from the ritzy bachelor pad the couple once lived in Sydney.
During their stay in Australia, they relished a sun-soaked life on Little Bay beach, boasting convenient beach access and a nearby golf course.
In 2023, Sam sold his two-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse located at Little Bay for an impressive $1,212,500 prior to relocating to Cheshire.
Although equipped with contemporary facilities and offering breathtaking sea vistas, the apartment might not have been a practical choice for Sam and Lucy to bring up their growing family of four.
In April, it was made known that Lucy is pregnant with the couple’s second child. Previously, Sam had two kids, Poppy, who is eight, and Billy, aged six, from his previous marriage to Phoebe.
In a collection of pictures taken during their trip to Capri earlier this year, she proudly displayed her expanding belly, indicating her pregnancy.
In a single image, the radiant woman with golden hair donned a form-fitting lace gown with a deep-dipping collar, gently holding her growing belly while appreciating the panorama from her lodging.
‘A perfect weekend in Capri,’ she captioned her post.
Sam married Lucy in October 2024 during a lavish Italian wedding after two years of dating.
For a span of four years, from 2015 to 2019, he was wedded to Phoebe Burgess and together they raised two kids. However, their marriage ended in separation in the year 2019.
