Two stars had one of the most famous love stories in the ’90s and recently had a mini reunion. 

In the heat of filming a popular teenage drama, this former celebrity duo ignited a real-life romance, as their on-screen characters were portrayed as romantic interests for one another.

Ultimately, the actors parted ways and pursued new romantic ventures; later, they both experienced divorces.

In the end, the actors separated and found themselves in different relationships, and eventually both went through a divorce.

After the final curtain call, a 18-year long rift developed among us cast members, and we’ve collectively acknowledged that our former partners played a role in this separation, to some extent.

But the stars have since reconciled and developed a close friendship.

Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green are the actors who starred as main characters in the TV drama series called Beverly Hills, 90210.

This week, they got a chance to meet up again, and they both posted about it on their Instagrams on Thursday.

In a bright display, Tori and Brian, both aged 52, exchanged friendly grins for the camera just as the photographer captured a spontaneous self-portrait of them.

In the caption, the actress wrote, “A bit of D&D in the wild always stays fresh,” hinting at the initial names of their characters from the series: Donna Martin and David Slater.

For her understated outing, the mother of five opted for a fashionably relaxed look, wearing denim overalls and a red bandeau top beneath.

In the center, her golden hair cascaded gracefully beyond her shoulders in soft undulations. To complete her look, Tori wore stylish sunglasses with red rims.

In warmer conditions, Brian wore a short-sleeved, white shirt and a hat on his head, maintaining his composure.

During the early seasons of the Fox show Beverly Hills, 90210, the on-screen couple Tori and Brian actually developed a romantic relationship behind the scenes.

In 2000, when the series concluded after running for 10 seasons, the lead actors experienced a significant disagreement which led to a prolonged rift between them, lasting for 18 years.

Tori went on to marry Charlie Shanian in 2004 but they divorced two years later. 

In 2006, she got married to Dean McDermott and together they had five children over the years. However, in 2023, news of their separation surfaced, with the celebrity filing for divorce in March of the previous year.

Additionally, Brian was romantically involved with Vanessa Marcil, his fellow cast member on Beverly Hills, 90210, for the years 1999 to 2003. Together they have a son called Kassius.

In 2010, the actor married Megan Fox, his co-star from Transformers. However, their marriage ended in divorce in 2021, following the birth of three children together.

Currently, he is in a relationship with the professional dancer Sharna Burgess, and together they have a three-year-old son.

In April of the previous year, Tori openly shared during an episode of her misSpelling podcast that her heart hasn’t mended since her first love, Brian.

During a chat with Shannen Doherty, a former actress, Tori reminisced about a discussion she had with Brian, following her divorce from Dean after 18 years of married life, as reported by Page Six.

She recalled saying to Brian, ‘No, I thought I was in love. Now, I’m not certain if that was truly love. As for being heartbroken since then, only by you.’

Following her confession, Tori remarked, “There was a moment of silence, then I exclaimed, ‘Wow, this is the first time I’ve admitted it in thirty years.’

She told Shannen that although Brian was her “first love,” their relationship now is purely platonic, but they maintain a strong connection.

You’re aware of the bond between Brian and me. I confide in him as if he were my sibling and closest friend. Our relationship is remarkably intimate, akin to being family.

Lately, our conversation revolved around my current predicament, feelings of love and heartbreak, recovery, and transition into singledom. Throughout it all, he’s shown nothing but understanding, support, and resilience. Simply put, he’s been extraordinary.

Tori remarked, “Sometimes he offers me incredibly inspiring words – both for my professional and personal life.

The star has also been supportive of Brian’s relationship with Sharna. 

The actress expressed that she has a fondness for her co-star’s fiancée. However, it’s important to clarify that this isn’t romantic love. Instead, when he speaks to her, she becomes quite overwhelmed and agitated, which instantly transports her back to feeling like her 18-year-old self.

Last August, Tori and Brian discussed their long-term rift during an episode of Brian’s Oldish podcast.

Tori recalled our previous chat and what was exchanged between us, nearly two decades ago. She mentioned she had been in tears back then, as it felt like we were about to drift apart due to our strong bond. It was much like experiencing a separation, similar to a divorce.

Brian found that Tori was so deeply involved in her romantic relationship with their fellow actor, Vincent Young, that she didn’t have room for a close friendship with him.

He shared that he made efforts to maintain their bond by seeing her often, yet it seemed she wasn’t reciprocating as much as he was hoping.

‘I sincerely felt like she didn’t want to be my friend. I made attempts to visit and call, but when these efforts weren’t matched, I stopped trying. I wasn’t sure about the reasons behind her actions, as I was unsure of what was happening in her life.’

Tori confessed that she always felt uneasy or distress when Brian came by, given her intricate history with the actor portraying Noah Hunter, a male model.

She expressed that it was ‘disappointing’ to observe the prolonged struggle between Brian and his co-star Vanessa Marcil over a 13-year legal dispute, which stemmed from a $200K loan and the custody of their son, Kassius.

The LA-born individual, often associated with nepotism, expressed distress as they witnessed their friend’s challenging relationship. Being deeply affectionate towards this person, they found it hard to observe the situation unfold and see how their friend was being treated, which was not acceptable to them.

However, it’s worth noting that each individual must walk their own path and undergo their unique experiences. As such, there might not be much one can say in response.

2018 marked the point where Tori and Brian renewed their connection. This happened as they portrayed amplified versions of themselves in the six-episode revival series BH90210, which premiered on Fox in 2019.

In more recent times, these two stars have had smaller-scale get-togethers, including one in the year 2024 where they all met up with Ian Ziering at The Hollywood Show.

Tori and Brian were featured with Ryan Reynolds in an advertisement a couple of months back, specifically in June, promoting his Aviation Gin.
