Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson is married! Actress ties the knot with DJ Denis Sulta in a three-day Irish ceremony with a Scottish twist

In a delightful, three-day Irish celebration this past weekend, Saoirse-Monica Jackson exchanged vows with Denis Sulta, incorporating a touch of Scottish flair into their nuptials.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve recently embarked on this beautiful journey called marriage! Just like my character in Derry Girls, I’ve stepped into real life with a bit of drama and excitement – announcing my relationship last September 2021, and sealing the deal at the enchanting Dromquinna Manor in County Kerry. My partner, a charming DJ, and I are now on this fantastic adventure together!

But to honour his roots, she wore an incredible reversible wedding gown with a tartan under layer. 

She shared with Vogue that it was important for her to have a blend of both cultures, as well as involve her loved ones, keeping them central to the event.

In the images from the magazine, she exuded a breathtaking resemblance to a Celtic princess in her unique gown designed by Annie Doble from Annie’s Ibiza. The dress was referred to as such by her.

The dress she wore had a fitted, corset-like top with voluminous sleeves, a one-sided skirt that dipped towards the back, and an unexpected touch of tartan pattern, which took Denis by surprise.

The couple became engaged in 2023, but didn’t announce the news until almost a year later.

Upon Denis’s kneeling, Saoirse remarked, “What made it most special was him writing down everything he told me.

Anyone who’s ever been proposed to can confirm this: at the moment, you seem to lose consciousness and feel detached from your body; it’s as if you don’t recall it. That’s why I’m so grateful to have those words preserved, and now that I can read them back, it brings me joy.

Fanatics of Derry Girls were taken aback when they initially discovered who the main actress, Saoirse, of the show was romantically involved with.

It wasn’t until a few years into their dating that the public became aware of the relationship between the actress from Northern Ireland and the DJ, as it hadn’t been widely known beforehand.
