It’s been announced that the popular shoot-’em-up game Vampire Survivors will be making a transition to a tabletop version, titled Vampire Survivors: The Board Game. This exciting new adaptation is scheduled to launch on Kickstarter in Autumn 2025. Emerson Malsuuchi is responsible for the design, while Grey Fox Games will serve as the publishing company.

Vampire Survivors: The Board Game transforms the popular bullet hell gameplay onto a tabletop, with each session lasting approximately 45 minutes. You’ll encounter endless hordes of night creatures that you need to vanquish in order to stay alive. Through deck-building, you can acquire new weapons and even upgrade them for more powerful effects.

For those new to Vampire Survivors, it’s a roguelike role-playing game (RPG) that focuses on survival, characterized by its streamlined gameplay. The goal is to outlive waves of monsters, collect gold to strengthen your character, and support the next survivor in each playthrough. You can either enjoy it alone or with up to 4 players in a local cooperative mode on the same couch.

Currently, the winner of the 2023 Best Game BAFTA Awards is transitioning into a physical format, and I’m genuinely thrilled about this tabletop version. I’ve been enjoying the trend these much-loved game titles are taking, such as the recent announcement of Glass Cannon Unplugged and Gameloft’s adaptation of March of Empires for tabletop gaming.

In this new version, you’ll have the option to choose from favorite characters, encounter familiar enemies, and upgrade distinctive weapons. It strives to recreate the fast-paced and captivating gameplay of the original, set to release on mobile platforms in December 2022.
