Leonardo DiCaprio openly shared the most significant professional regret he’s experienced throughout his career.

The Oscar-winning actor, aged 50, has been a part of several major Hollywood films such as Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street. However, there’s a role that he wishes he hadn’t declined to play in his career.

In conversation with Variety, Leo disclosed that the film he was unable to be a part of was Paul Thomas Anderson’s production titled “Boogie Nights”.

In 1997, Leo declined the opportunity to be in another movie as he was previously committed to portraying Jack Dawson in the film Titanic instead.

Leo wasn’t able to take part in the 1997 movie due to his prior agreement to play Jack Dawson in Titanic.

In a different turn of events, Mark Wahlberg portrayed the character Eddie Adams in the film Boogie Nights. This movie received three Oscar nominations and was even hailed as one of the greatest films ever made by Variety. On the other hand, Titanic earned an impressive 14 Academy Award nominations and ended up winning 11.

Leo mentioned that, even with him being present, he would still express his biggest regret – not having the chance to be part of ‘Boogie Nights’, a film that significantly represents our generation.

It’s hard for me to picture anyone other than Mark in the role. Upon watching the movie, I was completely blown away by its excellence.

The actor told GQ in 2008 that he wished he could have done both films but was forced to choose.

Previously, he had parted ways with Camila Morrone following five years of relationship in the year 2022, which was only a month after her 25th birthday.

‘The personal, the professional — it’s that you don’t want to waste your time any more.

Leo had a five-year relationship with model Gisele beginning when she was eighteen, and then another five-year relationship with Bar Refaeli that concluded when she reached twenty-five years of age.

Leo dated Gisele for five years starting from the time she turned eighteen, followed by a five-year romance with Bar Refaeli until her 25th birthday.
