During an interview on the Today Show on Wednesday, Jack Antonoff’s wife, Margaret Qualley, generated a bit of surprise when discussion turned to Taylor Swift’s upcoming album.
Despite Antonoff, aged 41, and the pop star, aged 35, having collaborated on ten albums and several one-time singles together, Maid actress, aged 30, seemed taken aback when co-host Craig Melvin brought up Grammy winner Antonoff’s upcoming project, The Life of a Showgirl.
Following his long-term production work for Taylor, and with an upcoming album, Melvin inquired for Qualley to share insights about this new record.
‘I don’t know anything,’ she replied as her eyes widened in surprise.
After an awkward chuckle, Qualley said, ‘I can’t wait to hear the tunes.’
Melvin gave a subtle indication that he wasn’t fully convinced by her statement, responding with a nod implying “OK, Alright,” suggesting he had doubts about her claims of being out of the loop.

Following the publication of her interview on YouTube, several users in the comment section noticed and criticized her formal demeanor.
‘That was very awkward,’ one wrote.
Another individual believed it was out of place and unrelated for Melvin to inquire about Qualley’s husband’s colleague.
‘I would also be so annoyed,’ the viewer stated underneath the post.
As a devoted enthusiast of all things music, I’ve had the privilege of being Taylor Swift’s main collaborator in crafting some truly extraordinary songs on her latest albums. Specifically, I’ve been working closely with her to produce standout tracks from her 2022 release, Midnights, and her subsequent masterpiece, The Tortured Poets Department in the year 2024. It’s been an incredible journey, and I couldn’t be prouder of the music we’ve created together!
Her most recent album is said to have been mainly produced by the prominent pop architect, Max Martin, and Shellback.
On Monday, Swift lent credence to the theory by curating a Spotify playlist, containing songs exclusively produced by Martin, from her albums released in 1989, Reputation, and Red.
As a lifestyle guru, I once had the pleasure of working closely with Taylor Swift in the realm of pop music. However, since our collaboration on her 2017 album “Reputation,” we haven’t joined forces again in creating music together.

Martin conspicuously did not attend Swift’s sessions for re-recording the tracks they had collaborated on earlier.
During the 2024 Grammy Ceremony, Antonoff extolled Taylor Swift’s virtues when he was honored with the Producer of the Year accolade.
He declared during his acceptance speech, “Taylor Swift burst open a path for me by storming through that door.” And expressing deep affection, he added, “I admire you immensely, Taylor.
Swift was also in attendance at Antonoff’s August 2023, where she reportedly gave a lengthy toast.

According to Page Six, she lovingly ‘roasted’ the couple for 15 minutes.
In 2017, Swift said it is an ‘absolute joy’ working with Antonoff.
In a conversation with Time, she shared that at times they’d both spontaneously play the piano together, creating music seemingly on its own. His enthusiasm and energy towards composing songs are infectious – he’s simply delightful. That’s why so many adore him. I personally believe one wouldn’t find someone as genuine as him elsewhere.
I’ve found myself quite fond of Swift too; we shared the dance floor during the Grammy Awards, where Billie Eilish performed “Birds of a Feather” earlier this year.
