Every single Easter egg Taylor Swift dropped about new album The Life of a Showgirl – as fans are convinced project was in the works BEFORE The Tortured Poets Department release

Fans of Taylor Swift found themselves overwhelmed with excitement on Tuesday upon learning that she was planning to release her 12th studio album, titled “The Life of a Showgirl.

The artist responsible for popular hits, aged 35, announced thrilling news on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. Notably, her devoted followers promptly recognized that, as usual, she had subtly been suggesting her upcoming record for many months prior.

Taylor often discloses that she occasionally arranges hints, sometimes up to three years ahead, acknowledging the intelligence of her fans, the Swifties.

It seems she subtly hinted at her upcoming album a year prior to its official announcement, and some enthusiasts believe the new project might have been initiated even before her 2024 album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was released.

Several tips often incorporate the strategic usage of numbers and a prevalence of the colors orange and green, as these hues symbolize her upcoming era’s theme.

So what hints had Taylor been giving us about The Life of a Showgirl?

Concert sign

In October last year, the singer posted a video on social media showing her strolling around Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium while carrying one of her feline companions, dressed in an orange sweater.

The stadium where the Miami Dolphins NFL team plays was being prepared for Lady Gaga’s tour residency.

In the background of her and her cat was a sign for the seating section: ‘A12’.

With the announcement of Swift’s 12th album on August 12, the previously ambiguous double meaning has now been fully clarified.

On Tuesday morning, the official TikTok account of the Hard Rock Stadium shared a video once more, with the accompanying caption: “For Swifties, August 12 is A12! Turns out we’ve been an Easter egg all along.

Audience erupted in excitement upon noticing, scribbling on a note “An A12 orange sweater?” and “That smirk?”, they discovered that Taylor Swift intentionally hid an Easter egg as far back as October 2024. Indeed, the influence of Taylor Swift is astonishing!

‘A12 meaning august 12th Taylor Swift you are insane.’,

‘I can’t do that anymore. A12!! XDDDDD it’s always something.’,

‘Taylor Swift hasn’t stopped hiding secrets for us to discover, like those Easter eggs. I recall us all puzzling over the meaning of A12, and now we’ve found out. It’s clear that Taylor is a genius when it comes to crafting these intricate mysteries.’

Eras tour clues

At every performance during Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, a clock displayed on stage would consistently start counting down from 2 minutes and 24 seconds prior to her arrival on stage.

August 12 when she announced the new album came on the 224th day of the year.

Taylor has often used number sequencing for dropping hints about upcoming announcements.

Spectators couldn’t help but notice that as the last performances of the Eras Tour wrapped up, she departed through a distinctive orange doorway.

She employed colors symbolically, indicating her transition into her upcoming phase – the life as a showgirl, characterized by an orange motif.

In the music video for her 2024 hit single “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart,” orange color was also utilized.

The video was a compilation of clips from behind the scenes of the eras tour.

In a particular scene, her dancers are depicted wielding feathers that appear orange for their rehearsals, despite the fact that these same feathers were actually white during the actual tour performance.

Orange and green outfit

On August 12 last year, Taylor subtly hinted at her upcoming album by sporting a trendy coordinated outfit in the colors that would later be used for the album cover.

It came exactly a year ahead of her announcing the album.

On that particular night, Taylor left with tired eyes following the grand farewell party she organized for her tour crew at the exclusive Annabel’s club located in London’s Mayfair district, where they are private members.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d rephrase that sentence like this: Even after dancing till 3 am, the artist appeared impeccable in a £2,500 Vivienne Westwood plaid ensemble as I caught her leaving for home post the festivities.

Taylor’s eye-catching ensemble featured a cropped jacket and a compact miniskirt, beautifully accentuating her long, well-toned legs.

She finished off her style with a stylish, ruffled white blouse, vibrant lime green platform shoes, and matching ankle socks.

Taylor ensured that the elegant setting was fully equipped with a complimentary beverage service, while also arranging six buses seating 52 passengers each, to chauffeur guests back to their hotels scattered throughout the city.

According to a source, Taylor is known for being incredibly generous among pop stars, and she organized this party as a way to express gratitude towards her dedicated team for their tireless efforts.

‘She hired out Annabel’s for the night and put on a free bar so her team could let their hair down.

Tomorrow marks their return to work, ready for the initial night at Wembley. Last night, Annabel’s was bustling with around 200 of them, making for an enjoyable evening. The crowd expressed heartfelt appreciation for Taylor’s dedication.

Eras tour book

In the previous year, Taylor published a tour book for her Eras tour, containing images from the sold-out concerts and previously unreleased photographs.

On the last page of the book the phrase: ‘See you next era…’

And tellingly the background of that page was orange – another colour signal of what was to come.

On Tuesday, a clip was shared by the account associated with her (and belonging to her boyfriend Travis) for his podcast, featuring an announcement of her new album.

In a clip, Taylor casually mentioned to Travis, “Let me share something with you,” before revealing a white case adorned with ‘TS’ in bold orange letters.

Taylor beamed with pride as she displayed a vinyl copy of her freshly released album titled, ‘The Life of a Showgirl.’ (She had to clarify that this wasn’t the edited video version.)

Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, emitted a jubilant, high-pitched shout the moment he heard the title of the album.

Travis exclaimed joyfully, referring to the fact that The Life of a Showgirl is her twelfth studio album, as the announcement video concluded abruptly.

Album sequence theories

Some enthusiasts have proposed theories that Taylor Swift began brainstorming concepts for The Life of a Showgirl before the release of her previous album, The Tortured Poets Department.

One scene from the Anti-Hero music video shows Taylor as a series of different characters.

One example could be: She wore an outfit reminiscent of a showgirl, adorned with orange sequins, leading some to speculate that even during her 2022 Midnights Era, she was already thinking three years ahead.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been reflecting on Taylor Swift’s discography, and I find myself drawing parallels between her releases. Fans have pointed out an intriguing pattern: ‘Midnights’ seamlessly follows ‘Lover’, but ‘Evermore’ and ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ seemed like interruptions in this sequence, much like how ‘Folklore’ sat between ‘Lover’ and ‘Midnights’. Both ‘Evermore’ and ‘Folklore’, according to Taylor herself, were albums she felt compelled to create given her circumstances and weren’t initially part of the plan.’

Absolutely, I’m in full accord with you. The TTPD album wasn’t initially planned, but it turned out to be something she felt compelled to create. That’s why we didn’t see an end to the eras; there was always more to explore with TS 12, and here we are continuing on our journey.

At the outset of the tour, she had not only begun work on TTPD but also had plans for at least four different projects: two re-recordings and two entirely new albums. Three years beforehand, she even dropped hints about this, yet we failed to notice them.

It’s clear that there were pre-existing songs for this project, but after her two heartbreaks, she immersed herself even more into songwriting. Later on, we observed her recording ‘TTPD Summer 23’. Essentially, these breakups and her resulting sorrow served as a catharsis for her. Taylor Swift hints at a new phase in her life through her upcoming album’s clothing line.
