As a die-hard Kelly Clarkson fan, I was deeply saddened to learn that her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, had passed away. Interestingly, his recently released obituary reveals that he had a cherished companion at the time of his demise.
In my role as a lifestyle advisor, I’m deeply saddened to share the news that I, after a long, private struggle with melanoma, took my final breath on August 7, at the age of 48. During this time, I was blessedly married to Clarkson and we were proud parents to our daughter River, aged 11, and son Remington, aged 9. My heart goes out to my family during this difficult time.
A recently published obituary disclosed on Tuesday that Blackstock had been in a secret relationship with Brittney Marie Jones, and the two were crafting a new life together in Montana. This detail was unbeknownst to most of his fans.
Following over two decades in the music industry, Brandon finally returned to the rugged mountains and embraced the cowboy lifestyle he had long yearned for. The obituary stated that he discovered a rural home and fell in love with Butte, Montana.
Brandon and his cherished partner in both life and business, Brittney Marie Jones, embarked together on a journey of building their lives, founding companies, and putting in countless hours to establish Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will endure as Brandon’s lasting tribute, The Valley View Rodeo, based in Bozeman, Montana.
In an unexpected disclosure, a report from December 2024 about the rodeo business shared by Blackstock and Jones, referred to Jones as a former assistant of Clarkson.
The earlier LinkedIn profile of Jones, mentioned in the report, showcases that she worked as both an executive assistant to Brandon Blackstock and an assistant to Kelly Clarkson. During this period, Blackstock was overseeing the singer’s management.
According to The Sun, the profile stated that I effectively handled day-to-day affairs for artist Kelly Clarkson, who was supervised by manager Brandon Blackstock, in Los Angeles, focusing on both her music and television projects.
Following a shift in leadership for Ms. Clarkson, I moved into the role of Executive Assistant for Mr. Blackstock’s ranch in Montana. My responsibilities here include managing the office and handling administrative tasks. Additionally, I am presently providing personal assistance to Mr. Blackstock as well.
On LinkedIn, Jones is listed as the Executive Assistant for V Bar V Cattle Co. LLC, a company that was previously known as Vintage Valley Ranch, which is among Blackstock’s businesses, thus establishing a connection between her and his life after the divorce in Montana.
It’s noted that Jones had been wedded to Greg Goose LaPoint based on information from her Facebook profile.
They posted wedding pictures from their September 2021 wedding, giving us a peek into their shared journey as a couple.
However, the exact timeline and circumstances of their separation remain unclear.
