Peacemaker Rumor Reveals How DCEU Justice League Cameo Is Removed in DCU

It appears that a fresh piece of gossip concerning Peacemaker Season 2 suggests that the appearance by the Justice League from the DC Extended Universe, which was hinted at in the first season, will not be included in the version of the DC Universe created by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

In the last episode of Peacemaker’s first season, the members of the Justice League show up following a significant fight, causing John Cena’s character, Chris Smith/Peacemaker, to express his frustration with several colorful phrases, indicating that they were tardy.

Justice League cameo gets replaced by Justice Gang in Peacemaker Season 2

User ‘Scooper’ at ‘MyTimeToShineH’ recently posted on a platform similar to Twitter, suggesting that the original cameo of the Justice League from the Season 1 finale will be swapped out for one featuring the Justice Gang. The Justice Gang first appeared in the 2025 adaptation of Superman.

The opening scene of Peacemaker Season 2 begins with a recap of events from the DC Universe, as suggested by MyTimeToShineH. While it mainly showcases footage from season 1, there are some updates. Danielle Brooks’ character now mentions summoning the Justice Gang, and they’ve re-filmed the Justice League cameo that was featured in the finale.

In this revised version, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Flash show up following the intense final fight. Throughout the scene, Superman and Wonder Woman stay hidden while stand-ins portray their physical presence.

In a continuation of their roles, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash are back. With the arrival of the Justice League, a tense Peacemaker exclaims, “You’re late, you son of a gun!” His frustration primarily targets Aquaman, to whom he snaps, “Go chase another fish, jerk!

In this scenario, Aquaman expresses his annoyance towards the gossip by saying, “I’m fed up with that tale.” The Flash then retorts, “It’s no tall tale,” causing Arthur to exclaim an expletive in his direction.

In the post previously discussed, @MyTimeToShineH asserts that Mister Terrific, Superman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Supergirl are featured in the revised scene from Season 2. While everyone except Green Lantern and Hawkgirl stay hidden, there’s a humorous exchange between Peacemaker and Hawkgirl instead of the original interaction between Aquaman and The Flash. The insider reveals that Peacemaker makes a joke about vomiting in front of Green Lantern, which he supposedly enjoys, and in place of this scene, there’s a man telling Hawkgirl something along the lines of “I hate that guy, you know he thinks I’m a vomit enthusiast.”

Peacemaker Season 2 premieres on HBO Max on August 21, 2025.
