The highly praised crime drama series, “Prison Break,” starring Wentworth Miller, is set to depart from Netflix in September.
The TV series, initially aired on FOX in 2005, ran for five seasons and produced a 2009 television film called “Prison Break: The Final Break.” Creator Paul Scheuring, known for works like “The Experiment” (2010), “Zero Hour,” and “Den of Thieves” (2018), is recognized as the originator of this franchise.
Except for the standalone movie, you can find all 90 episodes of this series streaming on Netflix until early September. The final day to watch is marked as Wednesday, September 3rd.
Greetings! Let me present Michael Scofield, also known as Miller, a remarkable structural engineer and genius with an exceptional IQ. In the first season, we delve into his story where he intentionally incarcerates himself at Fox River State Penitentiary, aiming to free his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), who’s facing imminent execution.
With Lincoln being falsely accused of killing Terrence Steadman, who is the brother of the U.S. Vice President, Michael resolves to assist him in escaping and clear his name.

In the first season, with a Certified Fresh rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, an impressive ensemble is showcased. Alongside Miller and Purcell, actors such as Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, and Peter Stormare are featured, playing roles as fellow prisoners at Fox River.
Following the show’s debut in 2005, critics lauded the series for its originality.
Salon enthusiastically praised “Prison Break”, stating that it offers an unprecedented experience unlike any other TV show we’ve seen before. While the characters may feature some recurring tropes of sadistic and eccentric criminals, the storyline is remarkably fresh.

The New York Times article stated that the series successfully extracted the chilling aspects of prison life to craft an engaging and suspenseful thriller.
Simultaneously, Slant Magazine wrote: “The series resembles a Rubik’s cube, and the joy is found in seeing where its intricate storyline will twist and turn next.
All five seasons of Prison Break are currently available to stream on Netflix.
