She is the creative genius behind hit BBC comedy Fleabag and the last James Bond blockbuster.
It seems that Phoebe Waller-Bridge might be developing a new project, as she was recently seen in north London carrying a stack of notes concealed beneath her arm.
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but feel a thrill when I spotted the enchanting actress, around my age, casually strolling through the streets of North London wearing denim overalls. Her effortless elegance sparked a flicker of hope within me that she might be secretly crafting a fresh script behind the scenes!
In essence, she secured a contract worth $100 million over five years with Amazon in 2019, after a highly competitive negotiation among Hollywood studios ensued following the conclusion of “Fleabag”.
However, despite her partner Martin McDonagh’s age of 55, being a renowned British-Irish playwright and filmmaker, Ms. Waller-Bridge has yet to match her initial writing accomplishments for the streaming service with similar success so far.
It appears that the much-anticipated Tomb Raider TV series linked to the crashing star has hit an impasse, with reports suggesting that the concept may no longer be viable.
It appears that Amazon Studios’ investment of $100 million in the British actress hasn’t shown immediate returns, as the scripts from the Fleabag creator have been slow to materialize and were ultimately deemed unready for filming.
It appears that, as of now, there’s no indication that the series will be filmed ‘early in 2025’, contrary to what a Prime Video executive stated last year.

This year, it seems that Sophie Turner, famously known for her role in Game of Thrones, has a full schedule with various movies, making it difficult for her to take on the role of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.
A spokesman for Prime Video had no comment; nor did representatives for Waller-Bridge.
According to reports, Phoebe Waller-Bridge started developing plans for a Tomb Raider television series back in 2022. The script for this project was completed roughly halfway through the previous year.
To date, no broadcast content has been created for the project. However, the project suffered a significant setback last week as Jennifer Salke, who was leading the project at Amazon Studios, was removed from her position.
Previously serving as the chief of entertainment at NBC, Salke played a crucial role in finalizing a remarkable contract worth $20 million annually, also known as “golden handcuffs,” for Waller-Bridge in 2019. This deal was struck when Waller-Bridge had gained significant popularity following the success of Fleabag.
The deal turned out to be one of the most infamous blunders in Hollywood, casting a shadow on Salke’s reputation that could have potentially played a role in her downfall.
Over the last six years, I’ve had the privilege of stepping into not one but two captivating roles – one as the dynamic character in the upcoming Disney adventure “Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny,” and another in the enchanting animated production by Paramount Pictures titled ‘IF’.
She also contributed to the script of 2021 James Bond film No Time To Die.

As an ardent admirer, I was thrilled when I learned that she was set to write and act in a revival of the classic film Mr. & Mrs. Smith for TV. However, my excitement turned sour in 2021 when she unexpectedly relinquished her role. To my dismay, her substantial contributions to the project were systematically expunged, leaving no trace of her involvement, not even a writing credit on the final product. The series eventually premiered with Maya Erskine and Donald Glover in the leading roles.
Despite this, she will be featured prominently in the upcoming American fantasy film titled “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey.” This movie will also feature Margot Robbie, who has played Barbie, as well as Colin Farrell, a renowned actor known for his roles in films such as “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “In Bruges.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m excited to share some personal news about Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the brilliant mind behind the writing team for the latest Bond film, No Time To Die. Since 2017, she has been in a loving relationship with fellow creative force, Brendan McDonagh. Their shared passion for storytelling continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Two years ago during an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress provided some insights about their relationship and revealed that they occasionally exchange ideas while collaborating on scriptwriting projects.
‘It’s really useful being with someone who I think is a genius, it just ups your game,’ she said.
