Cybill Shepherd, 75, doesn’t look like this anymore as Bruce Willis’ Moonlighting rival spotted on rare outing

Enthusiasts of the iconic ’80s television shows were pleasantly surprised as the cherished actress, Cybill Shepherd, made a public appearance in Los Angeles on a Friday.

Originally known for her groundbreaking role in “The Last Picture Show” in 1972, now at the age of 75, she was full of enthusiasm during her infrequent attendance at the premiere of the play “Heartbreak Kid.

Instead of the boho-chic style that caught Travis Bickle’s (Robert De Niro) attention in Taxi Driver, she appeared quite different today, wearing a whimsical floral blouse and comfortable denim pants.

In a more relaxed attire, sporting sunglasses and comfortable footwear, Cybill bore little resemblance to her stylish portrayal of Madelyn Hayes in the detective comedy-drama Moonlighting (1985-1989), where she shared the screen with Bruce Willis.

In our shared admiration for their captivating screen presence, it’s no secret that their relationship behind the camera was often fraught with challenges.

In 2005, Cybill acknowledged that at some stage during the series, our feelings towards each other had deteriorated so much that we couldn’t stand one another.

She added, ‘It was a very volatile show anyway, but that’s also what made it great.’

In the year 2023, the renowned actress portrayed author Nancy Crampton-Brophy in the television film titled How to Murder Your Husband. This production was masterminded both in writing and direction by Stephen Tolkin.

Her co-stars in the project included Steve Guttenberg, Sandy Minh Abley, and Primo Allon.

Originating from Memphis, Shepherd gained prominence by featuring in the successful show Moonlighting. In this series, she played Maddie, a character opposite Willis’s David Addison in a humorous dramatic role.

Hailing from Memphis, Shepherd became well-known for her part on the popular TV series Moonlighting, where she portrayed Maddie alongside Willis as David Addison in a comedic drama.

Her show on ABC from 1985 to 1989 received universal acclaim due to her outstanding performance.

In 1986 and 1987, Shepherd received two Golden Globe awards for her exceptional performance as a comedic or musical actress in a television series. Additionally, she was recognized with a nomination for the same award in 1988.

In addition, she received an Emmy nomination in 1988 for her work on the series.

After 1995, during the period up to 1997, Shepherd received three more Emmy nominations for her performance on the CBS sitcom Cybill. In 1996, she won a Golden Globe award for this role and was nominated again in 1997.

Or simpler:

From 1995 to 1997, Shepherd earned three more Emmy nominations for her role on the CBS sitcom Cybill. She won a Golden Globe for this role in 1996 and was nominated again in 1997.

Willis, now 69, has been in the spotlight recently due to his battle with frontotemporal dementia.

Back in March 2022, I made the decision to step back from my acting career due to some health concerns, as shared by my loved ones.

At the Race to Erase MS benefit gala held in Los Angeles in May 2022, Shepherd expressed affectionately about his former on-screen partner, Willis, following the public disclosure of his diagnosis.

‘I will always love Bruce,’ Shepherd told Extra.

She commended Willis’s innate charm and the way he landed the part in Moonlighting, a significant milestone that propelled him into a prosperous movie career marked by blockbusters such as Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, and The Sixth Sense.

Regarding Bruce, let me mention this: when he entered the room, he was the only one under consideration for that part.” (Shepherd added)
