Marvel Studios Unveils First-Ever MCU Blade Merch (Photos)

Marvel Studios unveiled its inaugural merchandise dedicated to Blade from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite some controversy surrounding Blade’s presence in the MCU due to disagreements over his upcoming solo film and Mahershala Ali exploring other aspects of the character, Blade continues to play a significant role within the broader narrative of the MCU. This ongoing importance was highlighted with the introduction of a new collectible item.

Funko has introduced a Funko Pop! figure for an upcoming version of Blade, who is set to appear in Marvel Zombies on Disney+. Previously hinted at in the final montage of What If…? Season 3, this iteration of Blade has been generating a lot of buzz online as Marvel Studios deliberates over the character’s future in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe films. In anticipation of his debut, Marvel Studios is using this opportunity to honor his upcoming introduction.

On Funko’s website, you can now pre-order the first Funko Pop! figure based on Mahershala Ali’s Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But unlike traditional depictions of his character, this version of Eric Brooks is a fusion with Moon Knight from the MCU. Instead of partnering with Marc Spector, he teams up with Khonshu in this unique portrayal.

Under this new portrayal, the character goes by the name “Blade Knight,” a fusion of the two characters merging for this special amalgamation. The design includes a black mask covering Eric Brooks’ mouth and eyes resembling the white, pupil-less ones found on Moon Knight’s costume mask. This Pop! figure is projected to hit shelves in August 2025, with an estimated price tag of $14.99 USD.

Earlier on, only Wesley Snipes’ version of Blade had received the Funko Pop! figure treatment. This particular Blade character debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the 2024 film “Deadpool & Wolverine”. As part of around six alternate universe versions, Snipes’ Blade appeared in the Void and eventually joined Ryan Reynolds’ team to battle Cassandra Nova’s forces.

The Funko figure of Blade, portrayed by Snipes, has a tiny patch of white hair close to his forehead, and it’s styled to resemble one of the iconic firearms that Blade often wielded during his battles in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the original trilogy.

In the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) production titled “Marvel Zombies“, Blade will reappear, embarking on further R-rated adventures in a zombie-stricken parallel universe. Although specifics about the plot are yet to be disclosed, Blade is anticipated to play a significant role among a stellar ensemble of heroes from MCU folklore who inhabit this alternate reality.

The upcoming series titled “Marvel Zombies” is a spin-off from “What If…?”, taking off from a Season 1 episode where Hank Pym’s journey into the Quantum Realm resulted in a zombie outbreak. Notably, Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), Shang-Chi (Simu Liu), and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) will not be the only Avengers in action here; instead, they’ll band together to combat an army of infected former heroes and villains who have fallen prey to the virus. Marvel Zombies is set to stream on Disney+ starting October 3.

What To Expect From Blade in Marvel Zombies

In simpler terms, Blade is expected to resemble the vampire hunter fans have encountered before, but Marvel Zombies will introduce a unique twist to his character. Previously hinted at in the closing credits of Moon Knight’s third season, this new version might offer an exciting and suspenseful experience.

The most thrilling aspect could be witnessing Blade, a character previously brought to life by Snipes in films like Deadpool & Wolverine, interact with fresh characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for the first time. It’s anticipated that his collaboration with heroes such as Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, and Ironheart will provide an exciting experience for viewers, even though this version of Blade may differ from what fans are accustomed to.

After the release of “Marvel Zombies,” one of the most significant questions arises: When will Blade officially join the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe following multiple setbacks in his solo film’s production? The movie was first announced in 2019, with an initial planned premiere date in November 2023. However, it has since been removed from Marvel Studios’ release schedule and faces an indefinite delay.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding that film, Marvel Zombies will undoubtedly offer fans a glimpse into Blade’s abilities under the supervision of Marvel Studios.
