Clash Royale August 2025 Balance Changes: All Buffs, Nerfs & Reworks

The new season, number 74, has arrived in the game ‘Clash Royale’, and as expected, it comes equipped with fresh monthly adjustments to the game’s balance.

The intention behind these adjustments (buffs, nerfs, and reworks) is straightforward: They aim to even out the gameplay experience (meta) by altering the power levels or skills of cards according to how well they perform during gameplay.

In the popular game “Clash Royale”, the new season started on August 4, 2025. We now have the official updates about the balance adjustments for Season 74, and today, we’re going to explore them!

All of August’s Balance Changes for Clash Royale

The adjustments made to August’s balance are substantial, affecting a considerable number of cards in significant ways.

Specific Tower Troop units and Card Evolution cards have been identified as focal points for adjustments. Furthermore, some of the game’s strongest cards will undergo either an increase or decrease in their statistics.

We’ve zeroed in on certain Tower Troops and Card Evolutions for modifications, and several powerful cards within the game’s meta will receive changes to their stats, whether that means a boost or a decrease.

  • Range increased from 1.6 tiles → 2.5 tiles
  • This change also affects the Minion Horde
Phoenix
  • Crown Tower death damage reduction decreased from 70% → 0%
Spirit Empress
  • Air form HP increased from 1,254 → 1,318
  • Air form range increased from 4.5 tiles → 5 tiles
  • Ground form HP decreased from 1,075 → 1,134
Zappies
  • First hit time increased from 1 hit every 1.1 seconds → 1 hit every 0.8 seconds

Nerfs

  • Damage decreased from 386 → 320
  • Hit speed decreased from 2.4 seconds → 2.1 seconds
Dagger Duchess
  • Hit speed decreased from 1 hit every 0.45 seconds → 1 hit every 0.5 seconds
Firecracker
  • Sight range decreased from 8.5 tiles → 8 tiles
  • Knockback decreased from 1.5 tiles → 1 tile
Giant Snowball Evolution
  • Rolling duration decreased from 1.25 seconds → 0.75 seconds
Miner
  • Hit speed decreased from 1 hit every 1.2 seconds → 1 hit every 1.3 seconds
Rage
  • Damage increased from 148 → 179
  • Duration decreased from 5.5 seconds → 4.5 seconds (does not affect Lumberjack or their Card Evolution)
Royal Chef
  • Minimum cooking time decreased from once every 35 seconds → once every 38 seconds
  • Maximum cooking time decreased from once every 21 seconds → once every 23 seconds
Skeleton Barrel Evolution
  • Death damage decreased from 256 → 238
Spear Goblins
  • First hit time decreased from 0.4 seconds → 0.5 seconds
  • Range decreased from 5.5 tiles → 5 tiles
  • This change also affects Goblin Gang, Goblin Hut, and the Goblin Giant (and its Card Evolution)

Reworks

Dart Goblin (and Card Evolution)
  • Hit speed increased from 1 hit every 0.7 seconds → 1 hit every 0.8 seconds
  • Damage increased from 133 → 156
  • Poison Cloud duration decreased from 4 seconds → 1 second
Goblin Hut
  • Spawn speed increased from 1.8 seconds → 1.9 seconds
  • Spear Goblin deploy delay decreased from 1 second → 0.5 seconds
Witch Evolution
  • Heal per Skeleton increased from 56 → 76
  • Heal from other Skeletons decreased from 56 → 0

In early September 2025, the new round of adjustments to the gameplay in Clash Royale will be implemented when Season 75 kicks off.
