Mollie King reveals she’s undergone a secret operation following mystery health issues and Radio 1 absence

Mollie King has revealed she has undergone a secret surgery following mystery health issues. 

The presenter, aged 38, recently disclosed to her 1 million Instagram followers that she underwent surgery in July, during a break from her work on Radio 1. However, she didn’t elaborate on the specifics of the surgical procedure.

In addition to a collection of photos spanning the entire summer, Mollie shared: “Hey there! It’s been a while since my last post! Hope you’re all doing well!

I simply wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to those of you who’ve sent wonderful messages during the past few weeks while I was away from Radio 1. Your kindness truly means a great deal to me.

In July, I needed to step away for a medical procedure, but fortunately, it all turned out fine, and my health is significantly improved now. I’m set to return in September, and I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with you then!

It seems an eternity since my last visit to the R1 studio. I find myself yearning for the lively battles during ‘Matt vs Mollie’, which indicates how much I’ve missed it! Ha!

She signed off by saying: ‘In the meantime, here are a few photos from earlier in the summer!’ 

Previously this year, Mollie admitted that she’s operating in “survival mode” following the arrival of her second child together with her partner, Stuart Broad.

Mollie and the 38-year-old ex-cricketer, who are parents to Annabella (aged 19 months), brought their new baby girl, Lilianna, into the world in January.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mollie shared insights on growing her family and disclosed that the initial weeks post-birth were somewhat challenging for her.

Instead, she acknowledged that she initially felt overwhelmed, thinking she knew very little, but surprisingly, moving from being a parent of one child to two proved less challenging compared to the adjustment from having no children at all to becoming a parent for the first time.

In her conversation with Daily Mail, Mollie expressed that the initial phase, similar to what Annabella experienced, was somewhat challenging for her.

You’ve been operating in a state where you’re staying awake all night, frequently feeding your little one, but now I find myself truly savoring these moments and making the best of every experience.

Instead, transitioning from one to two seems less challenging compared to moving from no experience to one, as I already have some background and additional knowledge under my belt.

‘I really felt like I knew nothing when I had Annabella.’  

Immediately following Liliana’s birth, Mollie’s partner embarked on a journey overseas, where he served as a sports analyst for the top-tier T20 cricket league in South Africa.

During this period, Mollie leaned heavily on her family – her mother and in-laws – for assistance as she balanced the responsibilities of being a parent.

During Mollie’s conversation, it was clear that the timing for his journey wasn’t convenient, but she appreciated having extra time with her due to her maternity leave.

Mollie, collaborating with Hasbro, shared with TopMob: “He traveled to South Africa for five weeks shortly following her birth, which wasn’t the best timing. Fortunately, my incredible mother and mother-in-law lent a helping hand during that time.

Since his return from South Africa, it has been a delightful experience to spend quality family time during my maternity leave.

It’s been delightful to sense that we’ve grown accustomed to being this quartet, and for most of the period, I’m well aware of the value of our shared time.

I understand that time passes swiftly. Therefore, we’re making a concerted effort to enjoy every day fully, engage in enjoyable activities, and spend time outside.

In 2012, the renowned cricketer and the well-known DJ crossed paths thanks to common acquaintances, yet it wasn’t until six years after that they started dating.

A friend requested Mollie to convey a message of well wishes to Stuart as he recuperated from an injury, thereby establishing the initial connection between them.

However, it wasn’t until 2018 that their relationship blossomed, as Mollie made her appearance on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Although they formed a powerful connection, this couple separated for five months at one point, but in 2019, they rebuilt and strengthened their relationship once more.
