Sally Hawkins has finally revealed why she didn’t come back for Paddington in Peru.
In the third film of the Paddington series last year, the character of Mrs. Brown was taken on by Emily Mortimer, replacing Hawkins.
When it was revealed she was stepping down, I shared my thoughts and explained, “It seems like the perfect moment for me to pass the baton to someone else.
I’m deeply enamored with the universe of Paddington and will continue to cherish it. Already, I find myself yearning for both his on-screen and behind-the-scenes companions.”
This paraphrase maintains the original sentiment while using more conversational language that is easy to understand.
The actor described her period with the franchise as “some of the most rewarding and imaginative moments I’ve experienced in the movie industry,” without offering additional details about why she left.

Currently, Hawkins is candidly discussing her reasons for leaving the role with The Times. She disclosed that the reason stemmed from Paul King’s departure as the director.
Hawkins has known King for 20 years and the pair workshopped the character of Mary Brown together.
She expressed regret over the upcoming movie, “Paddington 3”, but was pleased that Hugh Bonneville received an upgrade in his role. She is a big fan of Emily Mortimer.
“But because I love Paul so much, and love the way he works, it would’ve broken my heart.”
In their subsequent collaboration, Hawkins joined forces with King for the upcoming venture, “Wonka.” She assumed the role of Mrs. Wonka, who is none other than the title character’s mom.

At present, you might find Hawkins portraying a distinct character in the chilling supernatural horror movie titled “Bring Her Back“.
Under the guidance of directors Danny and Michael Philippou from “Talk To Me”, the movie features Hawkins playing a mourning mother who involves her two foster kids in a supernatural ritual.
As a cinema enthusiast, I eagerly waited for the much-lauded movie to grace our screens here in the UK, after its successful debut in the US back in May. However, it wasn’t until August 1 that we finally got to enjoy it on our side of the pond.
Paddington in Peru is now available to watch now on Netflix in the UK and Ireland.
