President Trump no longer insists that Rupert Murdoch appear promptly for testimony in his defamation case regarding a Jeffrey Epstein article published by The Wall Street Journal. However, Mr. Murdoch, who is 94 years old, has consented to disclose his health records instead.
Originally, Trump asked Murdoch to appear for questioning related to the Epstein matter within two weeks, taking into account Murdoch’s seniority and numerous health issues.
In my movie-loving perspective, “Instead of clashing any longer, they decided on a ceasefire, with Murdoch providing a solemn statement detailing his present health status, as stated in a joint agreement filed at the U.S. District Court in Miami on Monday evening.
According to the agreement, Defendant Murdoch consented to keep the plaintiff informed about his health on a regular basis, also setting up a system allowing him to notify [Trump] promptly if any significant changes occur in his health status.
Towards the end of last month, President Trump took legal action against Murdoch, News Corp., and Dow Jones & Co., the publishers of the paper, following their publication of an article detailing a lewd birthday card Trump purportedly sent to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2003 for his 50th birthday. The report stated that the letter contained a sketch of a nude woman and bore a “Donald” signature in squiggles.
Trump claims the letter is false, asserting it as a forgery. According to The Journal, this letter was among many birthday greetings from Jeffrey Epstein’s acquaintances, compiled by his ex-girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, into a commemorative book.
Trump stated that his relationship with Epstein terminated approximately two decades back, and he claims to have been unaware of Epstein’s criminal activities.

Trump filed a lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., seeking $10 billion, in response to a Wall Street Journal article that implied he had written a sexually suggestive letter to Jeffrey Epstein on the occasion of Epstein’s 50th birthday many years prior.
Trump was greatly upset about the news article. His lawsuit detailed a sequence of events, explaining that the White House learned about the story when a reporter from The Journal emailed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to notify her that the paper was planning to publish it. As soon as they found out, both the White House and Trump’s legal team denied the accusations, stating they were false.
Trump also reached out to Murdoch, according to court filings.
In his post on Truth Social dated July 17th, Trump stated that Murdoch had assured him, “I’ll handle it.” However, as we now know, Murdoch lacked the authority to carry out such action.
The day after, Trump filed a lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch, several journalists, Dow Jones, News Corp., which is their parent company, and News Corp.’s CEO, Robert Thomson, alleging defamation.
According to a representative from Dow Jones, they are completely certain about the reliability and precision of their reports, and they are prepared to strongly contest any legal action brought against them.

As a follower, I recognize that I had the power to halt the continuous broadcast of unfounded conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election being rigged on Fox News, originating from then-President Trump and his associates.
Previously, Trump’s lawyers made an unexpected move to compel Murdoch for an immediate interview under oath.
In that context, Trump’s legal team referred to his advanced age and health issues. They mentioned a recent fainting incident, as well as a history over the past five years of a broken back, a torn Achilles tendon, and atrial fibrillation. These conditions could potentially prevent Murdoch from testifying in person during the trial due to his unavailability.
As per the terms set, the deposition demanded by Trump from Murdoch is temporarily paused. This pause occurs until the newspaper proprietors present their argument for Trump’s lawsuit to be thrown out of court.
The agreement states that while we wait for a decision on the defendant’s request to dismiss the case, neither side will conduct any investigation or evidence gathering.
