Gangs of London star confirmed to lead new Sheriff-fronted Netflix crime series

Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, known for his role in “Gangs of London,” has officially been tapped to spearhead a new Netflix crime series focusing on a Sheriff character.

Titled “All Sinners Bleed“, this new series is inspired by the novel of the same name by S.A. Cosby. The story unfolds around Dìrísù, who becomes the first African-American Sheriff in a conservative, Bible-belt town.

In a small Bible Belt county, the inaugural Black sheriff is grappling with the ghost of his deeply religious mother’s sudden passing. Simultaneously, he is leading an investigation into a serial killer who has long targeted his African American community, claiming to act under divine instruction.

In the process of adapting the novel “All the Sinners Bleed” for television, Joe Robert Cole has taken on the roles of executive producer and showrunner. Additionally, he is set to direct several episodes, with episode one being among those he will helm, as reported by Variety.

In the pipeline for Dírísù, apart from his work on Netflix, is the role of Wes, a notable musician and businessman, in the upcoming series “Black Rabbit.” He will be starring alongside Jude Law and Jason Bateman in this production.

In this drama titled “Black Rabbit,” the actors Law and Bateman portray siblings named Jake and Vince Friedkin. Their lives are disrupted when Vince unexpectedly comes back into the picture, as a potential crisis looms over their shared family enterprise.

Recently, when discussing the limited series, Bateman expressed to Tudum: “I hope that at its core, audiences become captivated by the intricate, affectionate, tumultuous bond between these two siblings.

In a candid discussion, Bateman highlighted that Vince was the sibling grappling with more emotional turmoil compared to his other brother.

He mentioned that it centers around two siblings who have a strong bond of affection, yet they differ greatly in their lifestyles – one being somewhat careless and disorganized, while the other maintains a neat and disciplined demeanor.

Many people find themselves in similar situations. They might have a brother or sister, or a close friend, who they enjoy spending time with immensely, yet there’s an underlying risk involved. This person often leads them into tricky situations, but their company is always invigorating and thrilling.
