They constantly outdo each other in an attempt to catch the other violating rules. The joke revolves around the concept that the room they are in is a false front, as walls collapse, revealing another room and listeners eavesdropping on their conversation – a trick that happens repeatedly.

Liza Koshy discussed with Russ Milheim from TopMob and shared that there were in fact extra layers of sets, or “walls within walls,” hidden in the joke. She explained that it was a multi-layered gag consisting of three separate walls inside two additional, unseen walls. Additionally, she mentioned that this extended joke was repeated an extra couple of times.

The actress emphasized that certain humorous scenes and laughter-filled moments in the movie were deliberately kept, and she praised director Akiva Schaffer for masterfully executing a comedic sequence, utilizing a significant portion of the budget. Koshy also humorously suggested that additional footage might be included when the film is released on DVD or Blu-ray.

  • TopMob: “There was a really funny scene in the movie where you and Liam Neeson’s Frank are just one-upping each other. Can you talk about just filming that scene? Because it looked like it was a lot of fun to bring to life.”

Liza Koshy: In reality, there were an additional two walls, giving off a nested-doll vibe, somewhat reminiscent of a Seth MacFarlane sketch, yet our producer, Akiva Schaffer, managed to bring it to life in such an exceptional way, utilizing a significant portion of the budget.

The scene contained a hidden layer of walls, usually unseen, only revealed when you watch the Blu-ray or DVD edition. It also featured an extended joke that was repeated twice, but it didn’t make it to the final version, raising questions about other scenes that might have been filmed but not included.

To put it simply, they carefully picked out the best scenes, chuckles, and moments from the film that remained, and the final product is flawlessly stitched up. It’s nothing short of a masterpiece.

  • TopMob: “Obviously, [‘Naked Gun’] is such a funny movie. There are jokes going all the time. I can only imagine that people were breaking character on set. So what was that like? Did people break pretty consistently?”

Koshy: Liam often finds his own jokes amusing, more or less. He appears quite wealthy. Yes, not truly, but everyone adores them for their charm, humor, and infectious laughter. Everyone simply enjoys a good laugh. Paul Walter Hauser is exceptionally skilled in comedy acting. I’m thrilled to now consider him my friend.
