Benedict Cumberbatch’s poignant Alan Turing biopic has found a new streaming home in the UK.

Featuring Keira Knightley, “The Imitation Game,” directed by Morten Tyldum, narrates the tale of Alan Turing, a brilliant English mathematician who solved the codes of German military communications on behalf of the British government in World War II.

Currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the UK is an Academy Award-winning movie that delves into the private life of Alan Turing, a gay man, offering chilling perspectives on his arrest for indecency and the forced hormone treatment he underwent during a period when homosexuality was still illegal in the United Kingdom.

Knightley plays Joan Clarke, a codebreaker and Turing’s colleague on the Enigma project.

In the course of their interactions, they establish a bond and become engaged. However, later on, Turing ends this relationship and discloses that he is gay. Despite this, they continued to maintain a friendship until Turing took his own life.

Upcoming, Benedict Cumberbatch will star alongside Olivia Colman in a modern adaptation of the 1989 black comedy “The War of the Roses.

In the movie titled “The Roses“, the story revolves around the seemingly ideal pair, Theo and Ivy, whose marriage faces a tumultuous breakdown, largely triggered by career envy.

The stars listed include Ncuti Gatwa from “Doctor Who,” Sunita Mani from “GLOW,” Andy Samberg from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” Jamie Demetriou from “Stath Lets Flats,” along with Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, Zoë Chao, and Belinda Bromilow.

The Imitation Game is streaming on Prime Video in the UK.

The Roses releases in US cinemas on 29 August. In the UK, the film will be out on 1 September.
