This week, Denise Welch appeared emotional and was comforted by her son Matty Healy in West Hollywood following criticism over her remarks regarding his former partner, Taylor Swift.
A well-known celebrity on Loose Women, aged 67, recently drew criticism from Taylor Swift’s massive fanbase when she made a discreet jab at Swift’s habit of writing songs about her famous former partners. She later accused these fans, or “Swifties,” of attacking anyone who criticizes their idol.
It seems that the pressures became overwhelming for Denise, as she found it difficult to conceal her feelings during an outing with her 36-year-old musician son on Friday. However, a source informed TMZ that this was related to a family issue.
The actress was spotted wiping her eyes using a tissue while seated on the sidewalk outside Stella restaurant, with the lead singer of 1975 positioned nearby, offering comfort.
The duo, reportedly dining with Matty’s fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel, seemed engrossed in discussion. Meanwhile, Matty casually smoked a cigarette and offered his support to his mother during this occasion.
Denise and Matty then stood up and embraced, before seemingly heading inside.
Despite the ambiguity as to why, a source informed TMZ that Denise seemed to be crying because there had been a personal family issue that Matt was comforting his mother over.

It has been mentioned that Taylor chose a more dignified approach following an inappropriate comment made by Denise, the mother of her ex-boyfriend Matty, during an uncomfortable conversation in the interview.
