Jason Manford has shared news with his followers from the hospital, where he’s been after a surgery that required him to postpone four scheduled performances.
On Thursday, the comedian, who is 44 years old, had been scheduled to perform during his A Manford All Seasons tour in Hertfordshire. However, the performance was called off when it was revealed that he wasn’t feeling well enough. In fact, he ended up canceling an additional three shows as well.
Later on, it was disclosed that he had contracted appendicitis – a condition where the appendix becomes inflamed and enlarges, typically resulting in intense abdominal pain, and usually requiring surgery to remove the appendix.
After his surgery, Jason posted on Instagram during the early hours of Saturday morning, sharing a cheerful photo of himself enjoying a late-night treat – a pepperoni and pineapple pizza.
As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t help but notice that my favorite TV figure, sporting a cannula on his arm, exuded an infectious energy while striking a pose next to a mouthwatering pizza. He then graciously treated us to more tantalizing glimpses of the delectable Italian dish.
Fans promptly flocked to the comment section to express their goodwill towards Jase, as one person wrote: ‘You seem much improved, Jase. I hope that’s true!’, while another posted: ‘Have fun and get well soon! Sending warm wishes from Ireland, we stand by your side.’

In the meantime, John Bishop is now taking over for Jason at the Kendal Calling festival this coming Sunday. The comedian from Liverpool, who’s 58 years old, posted a funny video about it on social media, which was then shared on Jason’s page.
In the interview, he mentioned that unfortunately, Jason won’t be able to meet his work obligations. However, since Kendal Calling on Sunday afternoon is non-negotiable, Jason has asked him if he could help out. Since he’s available, he’s more than willing to step in and take over Jason’s responsibilities for that event.
After a harrowing 24-hour period, it was discovered that Jason had initially experienced symptoms while cruising along the highway at 70 miles per hour.
On Friday, Jason posted an update about his health on Instagram, saying: “My appendix surgery was successful, and I’m now on the road to recovery, sipping on Vimto – a drink they offer in all Manchester hospitals.
Had quite an anxious and intensely uncomfortable 24 hours, but I’m grateful for the exceptional care provided by our National Health Service and my amazing mom, who is like an angel during such health emergencies!
‘My advice would be to not get Appendicitis whilst driving at 70mph on the motorway!’
Jason expressed his sadness over missing his upcoming performances, but assured fans of his appreciation for their backing.
Honestly speaking, I’m absolutely crushed that I had to reschedule these dates this weekend, and I genuinely apologize for the last-minute notification to all the folks in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness, and those attending Kendall Calling.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I had hoped that I could push through with antibiotics and postpone the surgery for future dates while still managing to attend the shows. However, I was counseled against it, leaving me no choice but to prioritize my health over my passion.
Additionally, that implies I won’t be able to travel to Portugal on Monday to spend time with my family during their vacation. Oh well, it’s just one of those things. Thank you for all the thoughtful “Get Well Soon” messages.
On Thursday, it became clear that Jason was too unwell to perform in Hertfordshire.
We’re sorry to share the unfortunate news that tonight’s show of ‘A Manford All Seasons’ at the Alban Arena, scheduled for tonight, has been unexpectedly cancelled because Jason Manford is unwell. The performance will be rescheduled to Monday, 20th October 2025.

‘Thank you for understanding, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.’
In the information given to X, it was mentioned that three more performances in Oxford, Lincoln, and Skegness were cancelled and have been postponed to later in 2025 and early 2026.
I’m sorry to share this news, but unfortunately, some scheduled shows of “A Manford All Seasons” have been abruptly cancelled because Jason Manford is not feeling well.
‘Our shows will be held at the New Theatre in Oxford, The Engine Shed in Lincoln, and the Embassy Hall in Skegness. We regret any disruption this may cause.’
