In the forthcoming 2026 season, Married At First Sight specialist John Aiken guarantees a rollercoaster ride of drama, making it one of the most intense in the series.
In an exclusive conversation with the Daily Mail, John, aged 55, hinted that the filming process has been producing intense scenes and will showcase a group of forceful, vocal brides who won’t shy away from voicing their opinions and aren’t afraid to create a stir.
He mentioned that the cast consists of strong-willed, vocal women who will ensure that everyone involved in the study adheres to high standards.
Here’s a suggestion for paraphrasing: “Pay special attention to the women this year. It’s not only about observing their relationships with their partners, but also focusing on their bonds within their female community or sisterhood.
The longtime advisor on romantic relationships, who joined the popular social experiment right from its premiere, expressed that this year’s selection presents something new and refreshing.

As stated by Aiken, the producers have formed an eclectic team, which includes a sports presenter with a passion for cricket, two grooms hailing from various cultural backgrounds, and several individuals who infuse their dating strategies with a strong influence from TikTok.
Each year, our aim is to refine and update the show, not to drastically overhaul it and start anew. Instead, we strive to offer viewers a fresh take on what they saw last season.
Despite consistently leading television ratings season after season, the Married at First Sight show hasn’t yet secured a victory at the TV WEEK Logie Awards. Aiken, however, dismisses this fact without much concern.
He mentioned that they engage in the activity not for the sake of winning a Logie, but rather because it’s enjoyable, thrilling, and attracts a large audience.
‘At the end of the day, we’re very happy with the numbers we get every year—that’s the real prize.’
He believes the lack of Logies love comes down to voting habits.
The success of a show often depends on who is willing to cast their votes. Many shows, including MAFS, attract large audiences who are passionate about it, but the ones that truly win are those with viewers who take the extra step to vote online. This was pointed out by him in his statement.
For a number of years, several Married at First Sight (MAFS) contestants have found themselves excluded from the Logies guest list, which has caused some disappointment among them. However, Aiken maintains that this decision is beyond his control.

He graciously mentioned that receiving the invitation is an honor, but ultimately it’s not within his control or the control of the talented individuals involved. Each year, there’s a chance that some people might not get selected for the event.
Even if the show manages to secure a victory, he’s uncertain that allowing a bride or groom to perform on stage would be a prudent decision.
He chuckled, saying, ‘You can’t predict what they’ll say next,’ referring to the Married at First Sight cast. ‘They’re bold individuals who aren’t afraid to show their true selves on screen, but after shooting ends, you just never know what they might do.’
Despite the chaos, Aiken remains proud of the show’s ability to create real connections.
He remarked that it’s truly delightful to see Rhi and Jeff remaining together, thriving as ever. It serves as proof that such relationships can indeed succeed, and sometimes, fairy tales do come true.
Regarding his plans for this year, Aiken assures fans that he will continue to deliver his straightforward style during social gatherings.
He’s made it plain what his job entails – pointing out inappropriate actions and ensuring consequences are enforced. He’s become more straightforward and frank in his criticism due to the escalating severity of the behavior.

His advice to this year’s participants is simple: stay curious.
Instead of approaching the situation with a predetermined set of rejections, try coming in with an open, receptive attitude. Remember, we’re embarking on a long journey, not rushing to cross a finish line quickly.
You need to dedicate the entire 10 weeks, as unexpectedly, people can develop feelings of love.
Production is currently taking place in Sydney, and Aiken hinted that fans will be thrilled when the action-packed 13th season debuts next year.
He predicted that it will be substantial and full of surprises, and who knows what they might utter next,” he stated.
