An exciting, “tense” and “dramatic” British thriller series is coming soon, which you won’t want to miss keeping track of.
Titled “The Iris Affair“, this captivating story stars Tom Hollander from “The Night Manager” and Niamh Algar from “The Virtues“. The plot revolves around a brilliant character who pilfers designs for an advanced top-secret gadget. However, the cat-and-mouse chase ensues when the individual who initially hired her comes after her in pursuit.
The eight-part series hails from the creative mind of Neil Cross, known for shows like Luther and Hard Sun. He assures us that the main character, Iris Nixon (portrayed by Algar), is a unique and unseen television personality.
Last year, he expressed that his goal was to create a series that he would enjoy watching himself. He described it as an exhilarating, humorous, action-packed chase story with an extraordinary protagonist who, to the best of his knowledge, has not yet graced our television screens.
He continued to tantalize by mentioning “intricate personalities,” expressing his inability to contain his enthusiasm about revealing this universe and these unique individuals.

The novel titled “The Iris Affair” is being penned collaboratively by Cross, Susan E Connolly who is known for her work on “Hidden Assets”, and Ian Scott McCullough from “The Mosquito Coast”. On the other hand, Terry McDonough, best recognized for “Killing Eve”, and Sarah O’Gorman, a notable figure in “A Gentleman in Moscow”, are handling the direction.
Cross, McDonough, Tim Bricknell from The Power, Adrian Sturges from Gangs of London, as well as Jenni Sherwood and Dante Di Loreto from American Horror Story are all involved as executive producers.
The production of this series is being handled jointly by Sky Studios and Fremantle, a company known for hits like “Normal People” and “Deutschland”, as well as Wildside, the team behind “The New Pope”.
Filming took place last year in Sardinia, Italy.
