Roman Kemp has disclosed that he is not allowed to interview Jennifer Lawrence anymore, following an incident where she had him removed from a promotional event.
During the interaction, when the presenter, aged 32, was conversing with the actress who was publicizing her 2015 movie “Joy”, he disclosed that the questions to be asked were prepared by his superiors at Capital FM, which he hadn’t even glanced at himself.
Jennifer found the beginning difficult since she seemed uncomfortable responding to questions and gave short, one-syllable replies.
However, the decisive action taken by the Academy Award-winning actress was prompted by Roman’s audacious act of feigning a tattoo of Jennifer on his chest, an act that apparently led her to request security personnel to escort him out of the room.
Son of musicians Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman, Roman, looked back on the past event that occurred on Tuesday, when he posted an old photo featuring his temporary tattoo as a reminiscence.
He labeled his Instagram post as: “Discovered an old photo from when I chatted with Jennifer Lawrence, so I playfully acted as if I were an ardent fan, even sporting a temporary tattoo…
She didn’t think it was amusing at all. In fact, I was asked to leave by the security personnel and informed that I wouldn’t be allowed to interview her in the future.

During the interview, it was noticeable that Jennifer appeared uneasy while enduring Roman’s series of questions, one of which inquired about her preferred kind of cheese.

‘I am now banned from interviewing Jennifer Lawrence.’
Roman appeared to handle the awkward conversation gracefully, as this isn’t the first time he’s found himself in an uneasy interview setting.
In 2023, the podcast host became a sensation when he questioned Canadian actor Keanu Reeves about British customs during an interview with Capital FM, leaving the esteemed Hollywood figure puzzled.
In our conversation, Roman posed a question to Keanu: Could John Wick, his renowned hitman character, win against fitness instructor Joe Wicks in a physical altercation?

Roman stated: ‘Initially, I modify the appearance. Here’s how that works: let’s say you’re about to sneeze, lean back suddenly, and your eyes seem to vanish for a moment. This leaves you puzzled about why you were sneezing, and then you might wonder, “what just happened?” (imitating Keanu) “Exactly, that’s what I’m trying to accomplish here.”‘
During the interview, it appeared that Keanu found the questions puzzling, leading Capital Radio to post a clip from their conversation with the caption: “Could this be the most awkward interview ever?!
Additionally, he encountered friction with reality TV personality Georgia Steel during her 2018 appearance on the program. This was due to his witty yet sarcastic comment regarding her momentary lapse of remembering their shared kiss with Jack Fowler on the same show.
In response to questions about the incident, Georgia clarified that her memory of the event didn’t align with what she had witnessed. She acknowledges why others might have suspected dishonesty, but after revisiting the villa, her recollection of the event remained different from what she saw.
When I beheld it, I was extremely taken aback, and anyone observing my response would undoubtedly have picked up on this fact.
Roman dismissively responded with: ‘Hmmmm, yes…’ to which Georgia hit back: ‘Oh yeah whatever!’
At the 2020 BRIT Awards, Roman made viewers uncomfortable by persuading Kylie Minogue to participate in an Australian custom known as a ‘shoey’ – a ritual where one drinks alcohol from a shoe.

While Roman still follows Justin on Instagram, Justin doesn’t follow him back.
Last year, Roman revealed what he believes to be his most awkward ever exchange.
During an appearance on the Therapy Couch podcast with Peter Crouch, he revealed: “There was one individual who almost brought tears to my eyes. This incident happened when I was quite young, and it involved the character of James Bond.
Roman broadcasted the title of the Bond actor, clarifying it wasn’t Daniel Craig. However, he emphasized that this performer was just as awe-inspiring and imposing behind the scenes as he appears to be in front of the camera.
He stated: ‘In actuality, he behaves similarly. I found myself posing a query to him right there, and truth be told, it wasn’t an inappropriate question. Then, he pondered for a moment.’
Roman went on to say how the actor took control of the interview in an unexpected way.

Two years passed, and then he was the star host of The Capital Evening Show. The next year, he received a promotion to Capital Breakfast.
At age 28 in 2021, Roman accumulated a million dollars following the successful M&S menswear partnership with his father Martin. Additionally, they had a hit ITV program titled “Martin & Roman’s Weekend Best” together.
He started hosting The One Show the following year.
