The Mummy Reboot Actor Joins Superman Star in Hit Apple TV Series

A fresh face has been added to the cast of Presumed Innocent Season 2, joining Rachel Brosnahan, who starred as Superman. Known for his work in Midsommar and the upcoming reboot of The Mummy, this actor’s inclusion suggests a new direction for the Apple TV+ legal thriller as it embarks on a new storyline with fresh characters.

Jack Reynor to join Rachel Brosnahan in Presumed Innocent Season 2’s cast

Excited to confirm the news myself, as a movie enthusiast, it’s been announced that Jack Reynor will join the cast for the next installment of Apple TV+’s legal thriller, Presumed Innocent Season 2. This upcoming series is adapted from Jo Murray’s debut novel, Dissection of a Murder, slated for release in 2026. At this point, Apple has remained silent regarding Reynor’s role or any other casting details. So, let’s wait and see!

In contrast to Season 1, which was based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel, Season 2 tells an entirely new story. The narrative revolves around Leila Reynolds, a young lawyer tasked with defending Jack Millman. He stands accused of murdering a prominent judge, creating a high-profile case. The book summary reveals that Millman demands Reynolds as his attorney and remains silent throughout the process. This leaves Reynolds in a tough spot, needing to discover the truth while safeguarding her own hidden past.

David E. Kelley and Erica Lipez are at the helm of the series as its main producers. Additionally, Dustin Thomason and Rachel Brosnahan, who will be part of the cast for the upcoming season, have joined the production team. Jake Gyllenhaal, who led Season 1, is said to continue his role as an executive producer under his Nine Stories label. Scott Turow holds a co-executive producer position.

As a passionate cinephile, I’d be thrilled to share that the first season I watched starred Gyllenhaal in the role of Rusty Sabich. This captivating series garnered four Primetime Emmy nominations, among them nods for Outstanding Actor and both male and female categories for Supporting Actors/Actresses. The 1990 film version, with Harrison Ford in the lead, raked in an impressive $221 million at box offices globally.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Reynor has been gracing our screens lately! You might have seen him in Midsommar, The Perfect Couple, and Transformers: Age of Extinction. Excitingly, he’s set to appear in the upcoming season of Prime Video’s Citadel, and I can hardly wait! To top it off, he’ll be teaming up with filmmaker John Carney for Power Ballad – another project I’m really looking forward to!
