Demi Moore fans are shocked to learn her REAL name… and how she grew up in a UFO town

Demi Moore is currently a prominent figure in Hollywood, having garnered significant attention following her return to acting which earned her an Academy Award nomination for her exceptional portrayal in the film “The Substance.

But the siren’s image was not always so slick.

Demi Moore, who became famous for her role in St. Elmo’s Fire, was actually born under a different name – Demi Gene Guynes – which didn’t quite sound as catchy.

Her last name changed to Moore after marrying musician Freddy Moore in 1979.

Growing up, I hailed from the humble town of Roswell, New Mexico – far removed from the glamour and glitz of Tinseltown. This small city nestled in the southeastern corner of the state is most famously associated with the enigmatic 1947 UFO incident.

Previously, Demi clarified the correct pronunciation of her first name for followers: She revealed that her first name is pronounced as ‘Duh-mee’, a choice she finds more harmonious with her surname.

Her name has an interesting background.

In her early life, Demi Moore’s biological father, Air Force serviceman Charles Foster Harmon Sr., abandoned her mother when she was just an eighteen-year-old girl, prior to Demi’s birth.

At the age of three months, Moore’s mother wed Dan Guynes, a flexible newspaper ad salesperson with a knack for job changes. This adaptability led to numerous moves for their family.

At the age of 13, Moore found out that Guynes wasn’t her biological father. This revelation came when she stumbled upon a marriage certificate from 1963, which made her question the circumstances since she knew her parents had been married in February of that year, and she was born in the previous year (1962).

In 1991, Moore stated that his upbringer was Dan Guynes, while he doesn’t maintain a close relationship with the individual often referred to as his biological father.

Her biological father Harmon died in 1997 from liver cancer in Texas.

Demi and her mom had their fair share of ups and downs. They grew apart in 1989, but managed to reconnect just prior to Guynes passing in 1998.

At age 14, both Demi and her mother relocated to the vibrant city of West Hollywood. It was here that she embarked on a career in modeling and honed her acting skills by enrolling in classes.

1979 saw the marriage of Demi Moore (then still a minor, aged 16 years and 3 months) to Freddy Moore. Their marriage ended in 1985. This is the story of how Demi Moore came to be known by that name.

Her career took off at a young age.

In her career, her debut film was “Choices” in 1981, followed by “Parasite” in 1982. Afterwards, she appeared on the soap opera “General Hospital.” Subsequently, she went through a well-known phase with the Brat Pack.

Moore recently said she felt ‘a little terrified’ when she was cast in General Hospital.

Back in 1981, I found myself becoming an integral part of the popular daytime drama series. This role served as a pivotal moment in my professional journey, marking a significant shift in the trajectory of my acting career.

In simpler terms, the well-known actor shared with People magazine that a significant boost in confidence came when they landed the role on “General Hospital,” as it represented their first professional opportunity on a hit soap opera.

Actually, the situation was particularly lively as Elizabeth Taylor had recently appeared as a special guest on a daytime drama.

Demi quickly became convinced that she had a long-term future in the entertainment industry.

As a starstruck teen on the brink of my 19th birthday, I remember the thrill when I realized this wasn’t just a hobby anymore – it was a career! For the very first time, I could earn a living from something I adored and dreamed about doing. It felt like the start of something extraordinary, a chance to live my passion day in and day out. That moment was the spark that ignited my journey.

Despite this, Demi still felt anxious about joining the cast of the hit TV show.

In a photograph from the promotional shoot of General Hospital, Demi stated: “I joined General Hospital about a month prior to my 19th birthday, which makes me 19 years old, I believe. My appearance is quite glamorous, with lots of makeup.

It seems, I was thrilled about everything, but upon reflecting on this picture, I believe there might have been a hint of fear as well.

In December, Demi revealed that she feels more ‘liberated’ than ever in her career.

The actress has spent several decades in the Hollywood scene, and Demi has achieved a level of ‘complete acknowledgment’ or ‘total understanding’ in her personal life.

The actress, who was wedded to Bruce Willis from 1987 to 2000, expressed to ‘Extra’: “I believe I feel the most liberated. The environment is remarkably accepting, or perhaps even radically so.
