Enthusiasts of Jane Austen, prepare for anticipation as Netflix begins filming the forthcoming adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice”, with additional actors joining the already illustrious ensemble.
In this six-part retelling of Jane Austen’s cherished novel, Emma Corrin portrays the lead character, Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden takes on the role of the initial red-haired Mr. Darcy. Olivia Colman assumes the part of the matriarch, Mrs. Bennet.
Currently, Netflix has revealed the complete cast (excluding one conspicuous absence) for the upcoming series penned and overseen by writer Dolly Alderton. Additionally, they’ve shared an initial snapshot of the Bennet sisters.
I’m thrilled to share that the talented Rufus Sewell, famously known for his role in “The Diplomat,” has joined our cast as Mr. Bennet. Freya Mavor, who captivated us all in “Industry,” will be portraying Jane Bennet. Joining her is Rhea Norwood, a standout from “Heartstopper,” taking on the role of Lydia Bennet. Additionally, Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery are making their screen debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet respectively. I can hardly wait to witness their performances!
This group additionally features Daryl McCormack from “Peaky Blinders” as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge known for “Enola Holmes” as Mr. Wickham, Jamie Demetriou of “Stath Lets Flats” as Mr. Collins, Siena Kelly, star of “Black Mirror,” as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw, who was in “Killing Eve,” as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

In the cast of “Jurassic World”, Isabella Sermon plays Georgiana, Darcy’s younger sister, while Anjana Vasan takes on the role of Mrs Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto portrays Mr Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero is Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber and James Dryden are cast as Mrs and Mr Hurst, Justin Edwards appears as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote plays Colonel Forster, and Eloise Webb is Harriet Forster, a friend of Lydia.
In the large ensemble, there appears to be a noticeable absence of Lizzy’s trusted friend and advisor, the unmarried queen Charlotte Lucas, who was portrayed by Claudie Blakley in the 2005 film and Lucy Scott in the 1995 miniseries.
At the same time, the streamer offered viewers a clear view of the Bennett sisters accompanied by their mother in a helicopter.

On the show, Corrin, now a first-time executive producer, has switched out their short, pixie hairstyle for long, curly locks that peek out from beneath Lizzy’s hat.
Renowned for its authenticity in adapting Jane Austen’s novel, Alderton’s version of Pride and Prejudice will once again bring the witty and intricate characters to both old and new admirers.
As a gamer, I can tell you that this book is like diving into an immersive game world – rich with drama, depth, laughter, and charm. It offers a chance to explore the intricacies of love, family, friendship, and society, all while capturing Austen’s witty and insightful narrative style.
Pride and Prejudice will stream on Netflix.
