Pete Wicks openly acknowledges that he isn’t content with his inner self, as ongoing periods of sadness make it challenging for him to fully enjoy the achievements of his career in mainstream television.
This television personality gained widespread recognition after appearing on the popular series “The Only Way Is Essex,” and further boosted his fame with a performance on “Strictly Come Dancing.” His close bond with Sam Thompson also endeared him to many viewers worldwide.
But despite his success, Wicks, 36, says he is frequently plagued by feelings of intense sadness.
He confided in Thompson that he’s been feeling quite down for an extended period, as discussed on his most recent episode of the Pete Wicks: Man Made podcast.
It’s extremely hard to find a way out of this situation, and it seems many others share the same sentiment.
I’ve made a similar comment about you. It may seem like we both lead fantastic lives, filled with all the good things, and indeed, we are incredibly fortunate.
However, the true value of such experiences becomes less significant when you find yourself alone at home. This is due to the fact that without self-contentment, it becomes challenging to truly value or appreciate these moments.
Earlier, Wicks acknowledged that his Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystał had turned into one of the most significant individuals in his life, following a very impactful experience on the program.
Previously on TOWIE, the star surprised many with his appearance on the BBC program last year, initially considered an unconventional choice. However, he won over the audience so much that he advanced to the semi-finals, demonstrating his popularity among fans.
In a conversation with TopMob, Wicks himself openly acknowledged that he believed he would be the initial celebrity to leave the program, given his lack of dance background as he joined Strictly Come Dancing.
However, instead of following suit, the star captured hearts through a series of humorous acts. For instance, an infectiously fun Samba performance as George of the Jungle became a viral sensation, while a side-splitting Cha Cha Cha in Blackpool left viewers in stitches.

He expressed: “I assumed since voting people out occurs in the second week, I believed I’d be eliminated by then. Honestly, I did think so, and every subsequent week I expected to be gone as well.
It’s amazing how I found myself in the semifinals, progressing for quite some time, an experience that has lasted longer than anticipated. I feel incredibly lucky as it was truly overpowering.
In all honesty, a significant portion of my success can be attributed to Jowita. She has been an exceptional partner for me, and our bond has grown even stronger. We spent time together last Saturday night, and she has become incredibly valuable in my life. I consider her one of my closest friends, and I hold her in high regard. I truly cherish her.
‘She had to put up with me, she dragged me through it, because it certainly wasn’t the dancing!’
He noted: ‘I maintained a lighthearted attitude towards myself, but approached the show, the process, and the learning with utmost sincerity.’
What I truly loved about the experience was learning new things, and let me tell you, that aspect really stood out for me. Now, I didn’t consider myself a professional dancer, so I kept things light-hearted. As for my attire, it was none other than George of the Jungle, complete with pink PVC trousers. After all, who says you can’t have fun while learning?
‘I don’t think anyone expected me to be doing that – it was like a fever dream!’
