Woody Allen, 89, still holding hands with his much-younger wife Soon-Yi, 54, after 27 years of marriage in rare sighting
On a delightful evening in Santa Monica, California last weekend, I, a fervent admirer of the legendary Woody Allen, found myself relishing the sight of him strolling hand-in-hand with his cherished third wife, Soon-Yi Previn. The enchanting duo graced the elegant Italian eatery, Giorgio Baldi, with their presence.
In 1978, the special education expert, who was adopted from Korea, is currently 54 years old. This is a difference of 35 years compared to the 124-year-old disgraced director, who was previously in a relationship with Mia Farrow and later her ex-husband André Previn for a long time.
For approximately two and a half decades, the couple known as Woody (originally Allan Konigsberg) and Soon-Yi (formerly Oh Soon-hee), have been happily married. They are proud parents to their adopted daughters, Bechet Allen and Manzie Tio Allen.
Twenty-six-year-old Bechet is an assistant to the curator Michael Cary at Gagosian Gallery, while twenty-five-year-old Manzie serves as an assistant to the showrunner Darren Star on Emily in Paris.
During the years 2014-2015, it’s said that Allen and Previn frequently had dinner meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, a figure who continues to make waves in news due to the Trump administration’s reluctance to disclose his clientele list.
2023 saw the confirmation by their representative that Woody and Soon-Yi resided in the same community as Epstein, often receiving invitations to dine at his townhouse, according to the Wall Street Journal.

At the gatherings, there were usually other attendees. Woody Allen never held a business meeting with Epstein or ever spent time with him alone; Soon-Yi was always part of those interactions as well.
At one gathering in Woody Allen’s Upper East Side home, Chelsea Handler found herself among Woody, Soon-Yi, and a previously convicted pedophile. It was there that she casually inquired about their meeting: “By the way, how did the two of you get together?
The comedian, aged 50, stated during an interview with Mike Birbiglia on July 14 that under no circumstances would she remain quiet when seated at a table with him and his wife who is also his daughter. She felt compelled to express her thoughts, not just for herself but for all women everywhere. In simpler terms, she made it clear that she wouldn’t hold back her opinions in that situation, out of solidarity with all women.
My intention was to ensure that he, as well as everyone present, understood my feelings clearly before I departed. Essentially, I wanted to convey that I was not content with the situation, something like, “Please don’t misunderstand me. I am unhappy with this.
In my perspective as a lifestyle advisor, I never viewed Allen as a father figure during the dozen years we were together from 1980 to 1992, even though Rosemary’s Baby icon Allen dated me. It wasn’t until Mia uncovered some nude Polaroid photographs of her then-21-year-old daughter hidden in his home that I began to question the nature of our relationship.
Approximately seven months passed, and then Mia Farrow openly alleged that the filmmaker from the Bronx had molested her seven-year-old adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.
As a devoted admirer, I’d rephrase it this way: Eagerly taking matters into my own hands, yours truly, Woody, swiftly filed a lawsuit against my former roommate-turned-star, seeking full custody of our shared son, Satchel (now known as Ronan), and my beloved adopted children, Dylan and Moses. The legendary one was never accused or prosecuted in this matter.
In a 33-page ruling issued in 1993, Justice Elliott Wilk denied Allen’s petition for full custody of their three kids. He deemed Allen’s conduct towards Dylan as highly inappropriate, but he also dismissed the accusations of sexual misconduct.
Meanwhile, Dylan, who is 40 years old, continues to support her claims, whereas Moses, aged 47, openly refutes the accusations of abuse against his sister in a 2018 blog post on WordPress. He instead accuses Mia of abusing him.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but reflect on the last American film produced by the four-time Academy Award winner, “A Rainy Day in New York,” which was released in 2019. Remarkably, this movie came out amidst the surge of the #MeToo movement. The incredible cast – Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Hall, and Griffin Newman – demonstrated their compassion by donating their earnings from this film to organizations that support survivors of sexual assault.
Among the vocal advocates for Woody are figures such as Sean Penn, Diane Keaton, Scarlett Johansson, Alec Baldwin, Cherry Jones, Bill Maher, Jude Law, Javier Bardem, Cate Blanchett, Gina Gershon, Jim Belushi, Juno Temple, Michael Caine, and Jeff Goldblum.
A group of actors including Kate Winslet, Drew Barrymore, Evan Rachel Wood, David Krumholtz, Greta Gerwig, Mira Sorvino, Rachel Brosnahan, Jeff Daniels, Peter Sarsgaard, Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Hayley Atwell, Freida Pinto, Chloe Sevigny, and Marion Cotillard have declared they will no longer collaborate with Allen in future projects.
In the year 2023, Woody’s latest movie, titled “Coup de Chance,” received rave reviews from critics and grossed an impressive $7.8 million at the box office.
Next month, Allen is set to unveil the animated short film titled “Mr. Fischer’s Chair,” a creative work inspired by Bobby Fischer and narrated by him, produced and directed by the Spanish duo Xosé Zapata and Lorenzo Degl’Innocenti.
