Gabby Logan says she was ‘very much aware that people didn’t like her’ after getting the axe from ‘life-changing’ Strictly Come Dancing experience
Gabby Logan has reminisced about her surprising Strictly Come Dancing journey following her elimination from the program back in 2007.
In this scenario, the BBC presenter, aged 52, teamed up with the professional dancer, James Jordan, whereas her spouse, Kenny Logan, contested against James’ partner, Ola Jordan.
Instead, Gabby has acknowledged that participating in Strictly took a toll on her life because she found it challenging to handle the emotional impact of being dismissed by the public following her elimination.
As I shared with Wales Online, my time on Strictly was nothing short of extraordinary! Although my journey lasted just a few weeks, it was more than just a dance competition for me – it was a transformative, life-altering adventure in so many aspects.
As an ardent admirer, I must confess that while some might exclaim ‘Strictly has transformed my world,’ for me, it didn’t exactly yield positive results.
Gabby was eliminated in fourth place during the BBC contest, as she ended up in a surprising tie for last place with Penny Lancaster, wife of Rod Stewart.

‘She commented: ‘Leaving Strictly Come Dancing is such a surprise, as each week we start preparing for the next dance, not expecting our journey to end so soon.’
During the show, Gabby realized that many people didn’t take a liking to her, and she openly acknowledged feeling snubbed by the public.
In an interview on the Gold Minds podcast, Gabby remarked to Jessica Ennis: ‘What stood out was that, unfortunately, people didn’t choose me — and it may seem trivial — but the truth is, reality shows are all about whether viewers find you appealing. And I had a strong sense that people didn’t find me appealing.’
‘I was kind of like, they didn’t like me enough to vote for me.’
Despite reassurances from dance partner James, Gabby confessed she felt ‘upset’ over the situation.
She mentioned that the experience was quite thought-provoking since, after the event, she found herself deeply longing for the dance and also contemplating, “What is it about me that others didn’t connect with?
Gabby mentioned that her competitive spirit might have influenced her decision to leave, and pointed out that her husband chose to remain on the show, even though she considered him a less-than-skilled dancer.
Previously renowned rugby player, Kenny, came close to being disqualified multiple times but ultimately was removed from the competition just prior to reaching the quarterfinals.

As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but be moved when Gabby disclosed that Kenny had proposed swapping roles with her following her elimination. Despite the rule against such swaps, it just goes to show the depth of his respect and concern for her well-being.
The couple have been married since 2001 and share two children together.
2007’s dance competition concluded with Alesha Dixon being crowned the winner, taking home the sparkling Glitterball Trophy. Later on, she stepped into the role previously held by Arlene Phillips as a judge on the show.
After Gabby explained that she was reluctant to engage in intimate activities with her partner Kenny, due to health complications she was facing.
She shared her early worries about how experiencing menopause might negatively impact her intimate relationships with her partner.
Gabby, mother to twins Lois and Reuben, shared by her ex-Scottish rugby player Kenny, expressed that she managed to resolve the issues with the help of Hormone Treatment (HT), also known as Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
According to the NHS, menopause symptoms can include hot flushes, mood swings and low mood.
The presenter told The Sun: ‘My libido was definitely affected by the menopause and perimenopause.

I’ve noticed a decrease in my desire for intimacy with my spouse, and it often feels like an obligation rather than a choice or genuine desire.
I didn’t want to find myself in a position where it felt like an obligation, a sentiment often expressed by many women, so I made a conscious effort to avoid that.
She mentioned that she aimed to restore her sexual interest, as her sexual relationship with her spouse has consistently held significant value for her.
Upon receiving the prescription for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), she expressed feelings of relief and emotion at the thought of potentially enhancing her sex drive.
