Jet2 holiday voiceover star Zoe Lister reveals why she was actually left in tears after the aeroplane advert went viral

This summer, I’ve been scrolling through every social media platform imaginable, and it seems like the same catchy phrase is echoing everywhere: “There’s nothing quite like a Jet2 vacation.” It’s hard not to get swept up in its contagious popularity!

The current slogan, featured in an airline’s television commercial, is voiced over by Zoe Lister, a well-known actress from soap operas.

The ad features Jess Glynne’s song “Hold My Hand” playing in the background, and it has become popularly associated with various amusing internet jokes.

Additionally, Zoe, known for portraying Zoe Carpenter on Hollyoaks from 2006 to 2010, recently shared her concerns during the viral spread, admitting that it brought her to tears.

In my own words, I shared with The Sun: “Last year, events took an unusual turn for me. I’d find myself receiving clips displaying severe turbulence, all while my cheerful narration played on top.

I found it quite amusing, yet I was absolutely convinced that Jet2 was planning a rebrand. Frankly, I was puzzled by their approach towards the viral trends.

Two weeks ago, I was genuinely in tears to my spouse about the trajectory of my life, feeling lost and unsure of the path ahead. I had hoped that they, Jet2, had a good sense of humor.

Instead, she noted that the company opted to find humor in the situation, making it a “bright and cheerful” phenomenon.

She added: ‘I’m very grateful that Jet2 are going to re-sign my contract!’

Just last week, singer Jess finally got together with Zoe following the popularity of their airplane ad on TikTok as the newest viral sensation.

This past summer, their catchy tune has been widely shared on social media platforms, often paired with videos showcasing travel mishaps by users. Despite their advertisement gaining popularity among influencers, Jess, aged 35, and Zoe, aged 43, had never formally crossed paths.

Last week, I was absolutely thrilled when my beloved duo brought the magic straight to us! They reenacted that iconic ad right in the Capital Breakfast studio, giving us fans an experience we’d been yearning for!

An advertisement from a UK organization, featuring the hit song “Hold My Hand” by popstar Jess, depicts a delightful family vacation abroad. The narrator swiftly lists the deals and discounts as visuals showcase the enjoyable holiday experience.

The energetic voiceover heard in the 30-second ‘Jet2 holiday‘ advertisement is now nearly as recognizable as a top UK chart song by Glynne, yet many were unaware that it was the voice of former Hollyoaks actress Zoë until recently.

From 2006 to 2010, Zoe portrayed the character Zoe Carpenter on Channel 4’s series. She made a short comeback on the show in April 2017.

Zoe, who is both an author and a performer, and a mother to two children, has also been part of 56 episodes in the soap opera that celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.

Other past acting jobs include roles in Midsomer Murders, Crime Stories and Staff Room.

As per her management agency’s website, Jet2Holidays has featured her voice for a period of four years.

Surprisingly, not long ago, the mother of two unveiled her identity as the speaker in the TikTok ad, which brought great joy to her fans.
