Michael Sheen’s acclaimed film The Damned United is leaving BBC iPlayer very soon.
The 2009 sports film offers a somewhat fictional account of Brian Clough’s time as manager of Leeds United during the ’70s – a role that seemed unexpected given his past criticism towards the team.
Apart from Sheen, known for his role in Good Omens, the movie also boasts Jim Broadbent, who starred in Bridget Jones, Timothy Spall from Wicked Little Letters, Colm Meaney of Star Trek, Stephen Graham from Adolescence, and Joe Dempsie, a cast member of Game of Thrones.

In a matter of days, “The Damned United” will no longer be accessible on iPlayer. The final viewing opportunity will be on Thursday, 31st July, after which it won’t be viewable again (technically speaking, it remains available until 1:43am on Friday).

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film “The Damned United” boasts an impressive 92% positive rating based on 138 professional critic reviews, and it also has a strong 85% average score from approximately 50,000 user evaluations.
