Konami obtains vendor license for iGaming in UAE
Konami is back, but in a different way.
Konami, the well-known Japanese gaming company, is now among those who have been granted a supplier license in the UAE. This move enables them to deliver their casino games to legally operating casinos within the nation.
Since setting up the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), the UAE government has been diligently constructing a gaming market that is regulated. As early as July, Light & Wonder, based in the US, obtained a vendor license for both online and land-based gambling in the UAE.
The initial declaration underscored the rapid progress being made in setting up the UAE’s inaugural online casino. With Konami now among the list of authorized suppliers, players can anticipate even greater experiences ahead.
Konami Gaming will supply games and slot machines to UAE operators
The United Arab Emirates’ Gambling Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has officially announced that Konami Gaming will be added to the roster of approved suppliers operating within the country, under its regulatory oversight.
Beyond offering games, Konami is also expected to provide their slot machines and casino management systems, including Synkros, for the UAE’s inaugural land-based casino, the Wynn Al Marjan Island, built by Wynn Resorts, set to open in early 2027.
In a departure from their usual focus on the Asian market, Konami has ventured into providing gaming expansions in regions beyond Asia. Lately, they have been offering games and online slots in countries like Portugal, Paraguay, and Mexico.
In a recent announcement, Konami president and CEO Tom Jingoli stated that the company’s expansion worldwide over the years has been underpinned by a steadfast dedication to adherence to rules and regulations.
In simpler terms, he added that as the UAE enters the regulated gambling industry, Konami intends to provide their usual level of honesty, creativity, and quality, just as they do in all the 431 gaming markets they work with around the world.
