AFL star Jacob Weitering surprises teammates with shock baby announcement with wife Isabel

AFL star Jacob Weitering has shocked his teammates, with a surprise baby announcement this week.

On Thursday, when the player from Carlton, aged 27, marked his 200th game with the team, he shared happy news: him and his wife Isabel are going to have their first baby.

Afterward, he executed it in a distinct manner as well, sharing with his teammates in the locker room after their disappointing 24-point defeat at the hands of Hawthorn.

When Jacob approached to receive a plaque recognizing his achievement, he held the perfect announcement to revive the morale of the downhearted team.

The announcement was captured in a clip that was shared to Carlton’s official Instagram on Friday.

In Jacob’s own words: “As for my dear family, unfortunately my sister isn’t able to join us tonight. She’s currently in Japan, spending time with her partner. Grace holds a special place in my heart.

To my dear parents, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for all that you’ve done. You’ve been my unwavering support throughout my life, and I could never fully repay your kindness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

‘And to my wife, Isabel, you’ve been there from the very start. I’m so lucky to have you.’

He then shocked the room with: ‘For those that don’t know, we’re starting a family.’

The announcement sparked enthusiastic clapping and cheers from both team members and staff, as Isabel moved into the spotlight for a touching, romantic scene.

In a surprising turn of events, Jacob and Isabel’s achievements were announced in Weiters’ post after reaching 200 games, which was not something we had anticipated. A hearty congratulations to them!

Additionally, there was a burst of congratulations from Carlton fans, with one enthusiastically saying: “The upcoming generation of blues will undoubtedly be nothing less than fantastic.

A different person added: ‘You gave it your all, and you’re truly exceptional. I couldn’t be more thrilled for you; well done, my compliments!’

Or simply: ‘Another cheered: “You played wonderfully and are among the best. I’m overjoyed for you, congratulations!”‘

Another person, sharing the sentiments of many others, said: ‘Congrats to Jacob and Isabel, another little one born with the Blues!’

Instead of avoiding surprising their friends and followers, Jacob and Isabel chose to marry unexpectedly in November.

Over the weekend, I chose to keep a special secret tucked away, and on the morning following the grand event, my partner and I decided it was time to share our exciting news with everyone.

Isabel posted several videos on Instagram, captioning the post: ‘The best day’.

Five months following their engagement, the major disclosure took place, attracting numerous figures from the Australian Football League (AFL) to celebrate the occasion with them.

Jacob’s teammate, Sam Docherty, along with his partner Natalie, significantly contributed to the events of the day. Later on, Natalie shared multiple videos on her Instagram story depicting the newlywed couple following the wedding ceremony.

The event transpired at the enchanting Quat Quatta, our chosen Ripponlea wedding location, where Isabel shone radiantly as she made her way towards the altar.

The couple exchanged their promises, shared a loving kiss, then walked back down the altar, pausing to take photographs along the way.
