‘Eddington’ actor Micheal Ward charged with rape and sexual assault in U.K.
Michael Ward, a well-known British actor recognized from the Netflix show “Top Boy” and more recently Ari Aster’s film “Eddington,” has been accused of sexual assault and rape involving a woman in the UK in 2023.
On a Friday announcement, London’s Metropolitan Police disclosed that prosecutors have indicted BAFTA laureate Ward, aged 28, with two charges of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The accusations stem from an investigation into an incident alleged to have occurred in January 2023. The statement did not reveal specifics about the event, such as its location or the identity of Ward’s accuser.

Born in Jamaica less than a decade ago, Ashanti Ward made his acting debut, featuring in the British series “Top Boy” and Rapman’s 2019 film “Blue Story.” In 2020, he was honored with BAFTA’s rising star award. That year, he also acted alongside Charlize Theron in “The Old Guard” and appeared in Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe” miniseries.
This individual has been featured in various films, such as “Empire of Light” directed by Sam Mendes, “The Book of Clarence,” “Bob Marley: One Love,” and “The Beautiful Game.” Currently, he is portraying a young police officer in the movie “Eddington,” which is the latest production from the director known for “Hereditary” and “Midsommar,” Ari Aster.
