At a recent Comic Con event, DC revealed an upcoming crossover featuring Batman and Wonder Woman. These two Justice League members have been closely tied to DC Comics as key figures of their Trinity. Previously, fans have witnessed their teamwork in live-action multiple times within the DCEU; however, the future of these characters in the newly established DCU is uncertain.
Despite this halt, DC Comics has still planned a fresh collaboration between these two iconic characters, due later this year. This exciting duo might offer a tantalizing sneak peek into what fans can ultimately expect from James Gunn’s recently introduced DC cinematic universe, as Batman and Wonder Woman join forces once more in another intriguing chapter for the DC Comics universe.
During the DC All-In panel at San Diego Comic Con 2025, the renowned comics company unveiled a forthcoming collaboration between two of its most prominent figures, set to unfold towards the end of the year.

Acclaimed comic book writer Scott Snyder announced on Instagram that the iconic characters Batman and Wonder Woman, presented in their Absolute editions, will join forces in a new story scheduled for release in December.
Snyder posted it online, verifying the disclosure as previously hinted at during the SDCC discussion: ‘A token of celebration for you.’
“A holiday gift to you, coming in ‘Absolute Wonder Woman’ #15 this December.”
Although most people are mainly discussing DC’s fresh take on their DCU, behind the scenes, the well-known comic book company has been gradually developing another reimagined superhero universe through their Absolute series of comics, launched in October 2024.
This offers a fresh perspective for fans, introducing completely novel interpretations of the DC universe that have been adapted for contemporary times (drawing loosely from Marvel’s Ultimate universe concept).
For the very first time within the latest DC Comics continuity, Batman and Wonder Woman will share a storyline. This exciting new chapter commences in issue 15 of Absolute Wonder Woman, set to hit comic book stores globally this coming December. The series is penned by Kelly Thompson with art contributions from Hayden Sherman, Mattia de Iulis, and Dustin Nguyen.
Wonder Woman and Batman’s Exciting DCU Future
In this exciting collaboration, the cosmos-spanning tale featuring both Batman and Wonder Woman stands out as a pivotal event in the emerging comic world, uniting two iconic characters from the brand.
The clock is ticking towards the meeting of two iconic comic book characters in DC’s latest universe, the DCU. So far, the sole member of the Trinity who has appeared in the DCU is David Corenswet’s Superman.
While no actors have been chosen yet for DCU’s Batman and Wonder Woman, official plans for these characters’ projects are underway.
In the upcoming series “The Brave and the Bold,” Batman is expected to team up with young Robin, Damian Wayne. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman’s standalone film has been officially confirmed by DC Studios, suggesting that her big-screen return is imminent. Warner Bros. seems to be focusing on the “Wonder Woman” movie, so we can expect to see her soon.
In James Gunn’s fresh superhero realm, these two protagonists might also cross paths, similar to how their character counterparts from the Absolute Universe will intersect in the comic books.
