In August 2025, there’s an abundance of thrilling Pokémon GO activities lined up. The GO Fest Max Finale introduces Eternatus, while the Rookidee Community Day takes center stage. Additionally, the final Ultra Unlock event and the intriguing Dark Skies event complete this exciting lineup!
Additionally, there’s a process known as a “Shift,” which will update the rotation duties for Giovanni, the Team Rocket Leaders, and their Grunt members.
Finally, there is a Mega Raid Day, a Hatch Day and a Fossil Research day to get stuck into!
August 2025 Max Battles
In August 2025, we’ll have extended sessions of Max Battles happening throughout the entire month. During these battles, you can encounter the following Pokémon:
Featured Dynamax Max Battles in August:
- Omanyte
- Trubbish
- Chansey
- Pidove
This month will continue the tradition of Max Mondays, a weekly event that spotlights a special Dynamax Pokémon.

Pokémon GO August 2025 Raids
Five Star Raids
In the year 2025, August stands out as an exceptional month for Pokémon GO enthusiasts, as both Lugia and Ho-Oh make their comeback. This presents a fantastic opportunity to accumulate additional candy for your shadow creatures, should you find that supply running low.
Moreover, we’re planning to include Necrozma in our regular play schedule. If you happen to have some leftover fusion energy from the July raids with Solgaleo and Lunala, you may now potentially fuse them with Necrozma.
Mega Raids
In the game Pokémon GO, the Mega Raids scheduled for August 2025 offer some intriguing choices, such as Ampharos and Slowbro, both of which have been absent from the scene for quite a while.
Additionally, the strong Dragon-type Raid Attacker Mega Salamence returns at the end of the month.
Shadow Raids
Pokémon GO Shadow Raids in August 2025 will see Shadow Regirock back in Raids.
Other highlights this month
In August 2025, as usual, there will be several Spotlight Hours for Pokémon GO. On August 26th specifically, expect a 2x Transfer Candy event, providing an excellent opportunity to discard excess Pokémon following the Dark Skies and Max Finale events.
