Netflix is removing an “immensely satisfying” British heist thriller with Daniel Mays next month
The popular British heist thriller, “The Bank Job,” featuring Jason Statham and Daniel Mays, will no longer be available on Netflix starting next month.
In the 2008 movie, Jason Statham plays Terry Leather, once a criminal who’s now living a quiet life as a car dealer. However, his business encounters hardship, and an old flame re-emerges to tempt him back into the shady underworld with promises of a profitable bank robbery opportunity.
Following Terry gathering his team of unlikely allies and embarking on their mission, it becomes apparent that others have hidden motives, and influential figures aim to seize the treasure within the vault.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that the action-packed heist movie stars Mays as Dave Shilling and Keeley Hawes portraying my on-screen wife. This gripping thriller is now streaming on Netflix in both the UK and Ireland, but fans need to act quickly because it’s set to depart from the streamer by 14 August. Don’t miss out!
If you’re still hesitant about watching “The Bank Job“, let me reassure you. It has received favorable reviews, boasting a 79% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 142 critiques.
According to the review, “The Bank Job” is a well-made and skillfully directed British heist thriller that’s highly enjoyable, as stated by the site’s general consensus. Additionally, The Seattle Times found it extremely satisfying because of its mix of humor, suspense, and intriguing characters.
The Bank Job immerses us deeply in a story that’s meticulously crafted above all else, offering an intriguing examination of moral complexities across various strata of British society, and the concept of honor, or its absence, among unlikely criminals, as noted by The Wall Street Journal.
The magazine, The New Yorker, showered it with compliments by labeling it as a “direct” and “cohesive” thriller. On the other hand, The Austin Chronicle pointed out that The Bank Job excels in its portrayal of the harsh, unyielding realities associated with living a life of stealing from others.
As a die-hard fan, I’m excited to share that Mays isn’t limited to just the film currently streaming on Netflix. Last week, Netflix added the Channel 4 series “Red Riding” to their lineup. This gripping period crime drama, spanning three feature-length episodes, boasts an impressive British cast.
The Bank Job is on Netflix until 14 August.
The latest print edition from Digital Spy, titled “Oasis – Live in ’25”, is available now! You can purchase it at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
