Bad Bunny is staging a late-night talk show takeover
Bad Bunny is booked and busy. (Now try saying that twice.)
On Tuesday evening, the Grammy-winning Puerto Rican artist is set to appear twice in a row on popular late-night talk shows: “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on CBS and “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on NBC.
The 31-year-old artist is currently holding his groundbreaking No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, a 30-night concert series that’s projected to inject approximately $200 million into the local economy, as per Discover Puerto Rico, the island’s promotional agency.
In his spare time, the versatile artist Bad Bunny is not only making waves in music but also dipping his toes into acting. He’s currently promoting the much-anticipated “Happy Gilmore 2,” a follow-up to the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy set to hit Netflix on July 25th. In this sequel, Bad Bunny takes on the role of Happy Gilmore’s golf caddy, a character originally played by Sandler himself – an overzealous ex-hockey player who became a golf sensation. Both stars are slated to appear together on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.
In an unexpected twist, both rival networks have decided to invite the same high-profile guest on the same evening, possibly reflecting the dynamic shift in news consumption towards faster-paced platforms such as YouTube and TikTok. With evening newscasts seemingly at odds with these swift social media sites, it seems the traditional rules might be loosened for a veritable superstar.
In recent times, there’s been an increase in friendly banter among television hosts, as they express disapproval over the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show. CBS claims financial reasons for this decision, but it followed closely after Colbert criticized CBS’s parent company, Paramount, over a $16-million settlement related to President Trump’s lawsuit following his interview with Kamala Harris on “60 Minutes.
For the following 10 months, Colbert announced on Sunday evening, it’s a free-for-all, as his ten-year-long show is set to conclude in May 2026.

This year, Bad Bunny teamed up with Jimmy Fallon to co-host “The Tonight Show” as a part of promoting his successful album titled “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” The album has been consistently ranking on the Billboard 200 chart since its release in January. During their show, they donned disguises and entertained people by busking at a subway station in New York City. First, they performed a rendition of the Backstreet Boys’ hit “I Want It That Way,” followed by Bad Bunny’s single “Nuevayol.
For anyone curious about Bad Bunny’s upcoming New York performance, don’t worry: “Late Night with Seth Meyers” records its Tuesday episodes on Mondays.
First off, Bad Bunny is set to make a special appearance as a guest on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on CBS at 8:35 p.m., Pacific Standard Time (PST). Subsequently, he’ll be seen on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on NBC at 9:35 p.m., also in PST.
