A hugely acclaimed BBC drama is coming to another streamer after its departure from iPlayer.
In 2020, the captivating series “Normal People” made its debut on various streaming platforms, including Disney+, and will soon be accessible on Netflix as well. This drama chronicles the intense emotional journey of a couple portrayed by Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones through their ups and downs.
It will be added to the streaming service on Sunday, 3 August.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but express my delight over the captivating 12-episode series that brought Sally Rooney’s acclaimed romance novel to life. This adaptation has truly stolen the hearts of critics, boasting an impressive 91% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on a whopping 91 professional reviews. What a marvelous achievement!
Mail on Sunday found Normal People to be fantastic, nearly flawless, ranking among the top TV dramas of late, while The Guardian described it as a skillful demonstration of emotional depth and intellectual finesse.

According to TIME Magazine, this 12-episode series powerfully portrays the turmoil and passion of youthful romance as the characters face challenges related to friendships, past traumas, and mental health. Meanwhile, The New York Times described the show as both moving and devastatingly impactful – in a positive sense.
During the initial stages of the pandemic, fans found themselves captivated by the show as well. On various social platforms, they praised it highly, referring to it as “flawless” and expressing their belief that it was worthy of all accolades.

The performance in the show catapulted both main actors into stardom. Subsequently, Daisy Edgar-Jones appeared in “Where the Crawdads Sing” and the follow-up film “Twisters”.
In various productions, including “Aftersun”, “All of Us Strangers”, “The History of Sound”, and the Ridley Scott-directed hit film “Gladiator II”, Mescal has made notable appearances.
Normal People is available to stream on Disney+ now and will be on Netflix from 3 August.
