Poby officially joins FNATIC for the LEC Summer Split 2025

The promising talent from T1 Esports Academy, known as Poby, has been announced as the latest addition to FNATIC’s roster, taking on the mid lane role in preparation for the LEC Summer Split 2025.

Indeed, it’s accurate — Yoon “Poby” Sung-won is now officially part of FNATIC, just in time for the LEC Summer Split 2025. This South Korean player, previously with T1 Academy, has decided to cross the ocean and join the European scene as FNATIC’s latest recruit. Humanoid, on the other hand, has been shifted to the inactive roster.

Poby joins FNATIC

In his opening video, Poby was forthright, stating he’s here to revolutionize the LEC. Given that FNATIC is eager to bounce back from a challenging Spring where they ended up in fourth place and missed out on MSI 2025 qualification, it seems that Poby’s arrival might just be what they need. Moreover, coach Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohmann commended Poby’s enthusiasm, referring to him as someone capable of injecting positivity into the team.

Furthermore, the head coach emphasized Poby’s robust skills in laning and strategic play. This Korean mid laner asserts he can contribute to the team’s pace and overall strategy, particularly during the mid to late stages of the game. Poby mentioned that one unexpected aspect since moving to Europe has been the lifestyle. The absence of traffic lights also caught him off guard.

Humanoid is benched after three years

Due to FNATIC’s challenges during the previous season, it was acknowledged that they needed to consider alternative options. Poby emerged as the top choice from their observations. As confirmed on July 14th, he departed T1 Esports Academy and joined FNATIC, taking over from Marek “Humanoid” Brázda who now finds himself on the inactive roster after three years with the team. So far, the Czech mid laner has remained silent regarding this decision.
