Kelly Clarkson gives grim update to fans after marriage to Brandon Blackstock imploded

Kelly Clarkson shares a somber reflection with fans about her ongoing journey to find love, having been divorced from her former spouse Brandon Blackstock for several years now.

On the stage in Las Vegas during her performance on a Friday evening, the 43-year-old vocalist shared with her audience the reasons behind her decision to remain unattached. Accompanied by her 11-year-old daughter River Rose, they both graced the stage together.

In a TikTok video filmed at her Studio Sessions residency in Caesars Palace’s Colosseum in Las Vegas, she shared, ‘I find dating challenging, so I prefer not to.’

Making the situation sound grim, Clarkson compared dating in the spotlight to a ‘dumpster fire.’

‘Add a spotlight and it’s like a … dumpster fire,’ she told the crowd. 

More than a few fans related to her decision to go stay away from the dating scene. 

‘I hear ya darlin’!’ wrote one fan, under the clip. 

‘I don’t need a man. I need my margarita and my cheese,’ revealed another. 

In 2013, Clarkson tied the knot with her ex-manager, Brandon Blackstock. Shortly after, they became parents to a daughter, followed by a son named Remington, who is now nine years old.

In 2020, they parted ways, and it wasn’t until two years later that their divorce was officially completed following a prolonged legal dispute regarding finances, assets, and child guardianship issues.

The Grammy winner won full primary custody of her kids and moved to New York City.

In 2023, she shared with USA Today that she felt the need for a new beginning and couldn’t stay in L.A. Her heart was set on Montana, but it wasn’t feasible to produce a show from there at the moment. So, she thought to herself, “Given the circumstances, New York City seems like the most likely alternative.

As a lifestyle expert, I recently found myself at an enlightening concert in Atlantic City, where the talented artist behind “Since U Been Gone” opened up about her life experiences. She revealed that challenging relationships seem to run deep within her family history.

Clarkson’s parents divorced when she was six.  

She once expressed, “We acquire knowledge from our elders, who in turn learned from theirs. It seems we’re stuck in a cycle of repeating the same unfortunate patterns.” Later, she reflected, “It appears I’ve followed the very path I chose.

The busy working mother who finds no spare time for dating, has recently teamed up with Wayfair in a new project. This venture is likely to attract a significant number of her fans who have witnessed her captivating performances in Las Vegas.

Next month, Clarkson is set to go back to her hometown Texas for a charity concert aimed at helping flood victims, where she’ll be lending her talents.

She’s set to perform alongside Miranda Lambert, Lyle Lovett, Cody Johnson, and others at the Moody Center in Austin on August 17.
