Yellowstone creator’s “terrifically tense” crime thriller has just landed on Prime Video

The gripping crime thriller penned by Taylor Sheridan, who is also known as the mind behind “Yellowstone,” titled “Hell or High Water,” has now become available for streaming on Prime Video in both the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In a 2016 modern Western setting, we find ourselves following the story of two siblings who resort to bank heists to preserve their ancestral ranch. Simultaneously, there are two Texas lawmen hot on their trail, attempting to apprehend these outlaws.

In the movie “Don’t Worry Darling,” Chris Pine from that film and Ben Foster known for his role in “X-Men: The Last Stand” portray the siblings. Meanwhile, Jeff Bridges, famously recognized for his work in “Tron,” and Gil Birmingham from “Twilight” take on the roles of the rangers.

As a gamer, I’d say it continues the tale set in Sheridan’s American Frontier Trilogy, following the footsteps of Sicario from 2015, and preceding Wind River in 2017.

If you find this appealing but you don’t have a subscription to Prime Video, you’ll be happy to learn that the movie “Hell or High Water” can also be streamed on Netflix at the moment.

The movie received an almost flawless 97% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes, following 287 reviews from professional critics. In general, it’s widely agreed that instead of relying on senseless shooting scenes, the film boasts a steady rhythm and well-developed characters.

According to The Verge, Hell or High Water was incredibly tense, while The Atlantic deemed it one of the top films of the year. Empire referred to it as a cleverly complex story about Texas law enforcement and outlaws, seamlessly blending the Old West with contemporary times.

Currently, Sheridan is developing an exciting new action-thriller titled “F.A.S.T.“. Initially, it was planned to feature Chris Pratt, known for his role in “Guardians of the Galaxy“.

Or simply:
Sheridan is now working on a thrilling new action movie called “F.A.S.T.“, originally intended for Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy)).

Nevertheless, following several setbacks spanning close to a decade, the project has finally regained momentum, as another individual has taken over the main position.

Hell or High Water is available to stream now on Prime Video, as well as Netflix.

The latest print edition from Digital Spy has arrived! You can purchase “Oasis – Live in ’25” at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
