The David Tennant and Michael Sheen lockdown series has secured a fresh streaming platform for British viewers to enjoy.
2020 marked the debut of the first season for “Staged,” a series where the actors from “Good Omens” portray fictionalized representations of themselves.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic halting their live West End performance, these two actors have been encouraged to practice “Six Characters Seeking an Author” by Luigi Pirandello over video calls, welcoming various special guests to participate in the online rehearsals.
In the UK, you can now stream Season 1 of “Staged” on Amazon Prime Video, whereas Seasons 2-3 and the holiday special continue to be accessible on BBC iPlayer.
The show was developed by Simon Evans and Phin Glynn, with Evans playing an unacknowledged character – a play director named Simon – who advocates for online rehearsals and strives to manage the production, yet finds it challenging to maintain control.

In the show, Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, and Lucy Eton are among the main cast members, while renowned actors such as Samuel L. Jackson, Judi Dench, Nina Sosanya, and Adrian Lester make guest appearances during the first season.
The TV show titled “Staged” was mostly filmed through video conferencing applications and currently boasts a 93% approval rating from critics based on 15 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The show has been praised as both funny and heartwarming, with critics finding it particularly relatable for those who work remotely. In the 2020 review by the Los Angeles Times, Staged was singled out as especially resonant.
The brief duration of each episode offers an engaging, somewhat exaggerated exploration into the lives of a beloved actor and a hilarious friendship, as per the 2 Minute Telly review. Meanwhile, the New Statesman acknowledges that the series can come off as contrived, but still finds it endearing in its quirky, subtle silliness.
In the UK, you can stream Season 1 of Staged on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, Seasons 2, 3, and the holiday special are all accessible for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
