Newly-engaged Emily Atack enjoys romantic getaway with fiancé Alistair Garner as the pair share a kiss while soaking up the sun in France

Emily Atack, who recently got engaged, along with her partner Alistair Garber, have been savoring a romantic escape in the picturesque Midi-Pyrenees region of France.

The actress, aged 35, who revealed last Friday that her fiancé had proposed, appears to be basking in joyous bliss. She and her partner, Alistair, have been posting numerous photos from their recent getaways, still seemingly on cloud nine.

Caught on camera, I found myself bursting with laughter, just like my favorite actress from “The Rivals,” seated beside her beloved companion, both of us savoring a shared drink – an unforgettable moment that made my fangirl heart skip a beat!

Emily was stunningly beautiful in a jean dress, accessorizing it with a vibrant red bandana neatly tucked into her hair.

She accessorised with some funky bracelets and oversized sunglasses.

Moments later, the actress couldn’t help but keep smiling broadly, as she posed for the camera alongside a friend and proudly showed off the diamond ring on her left hand, signifying her marital status.

Emily appeared carefree, going without makeup, showcasing her golden, sun-kissed complexion, and styling her hair in a casual, damp style that seemed to suggest she had been swimming in a pool.

In June 2024, the delighted parents, having just given birth to their son named Barney, appeared exceptionally joyful in a captured moment. A sequence of images, resembling a carousel, revealed them lost in their own world, oblivious to any onlookers, as they passionately shared a deep kiss.

Emily, who appeared to be setting the table, got momentarily sidetracked upon seeing Alistair, the attractive fellow, planting a kiss on her.

In another photo, the mother of one was spotted wearing a white minidress and brown sandals, radiantly dancing through the garden while waving her arms high above her head, clearly delighted.

Ultimately, Emily chose a captivating floral maxi dress and accessorized with an oversized straw handbag slung across her shoulder.

She pinned her blonde locks into a low ponytail and looked out onto the stunning green landscape. 

In a joyful mood during her countryside retreat, Emily exclaimed, “I adore this moment, I’m thankful for being alive!” accompanied by a peach emoticon.

For nearly three decades, the actress has been acquainted with Alistair, given that his stepmother Jane Garner is her mother’s sister.

Emily’s aunt began dating Stephen Garner (Alistair’s father) in the 90s, and they eventually got married in 1994, at which point Emily’s new relatives entered her life.

In her 2019 memoir titled “Are We There Yet?”, Emily hinted at the reasons behind her romance with Alistair, who is 38 years old, due to their strong emotional bond, similar to that of close cousins.

She remarks: “Cousins are like the finest creation since the Game Boy. They share half their genetic makeup with you, and yet they offer a unique companionship, much like being both family and a friend. You share similar features yet possess distinct qualities…

You two share a profound understanding and exhibit a slightly higher degree of social courtesy compared to your siblings.

It saddens me to see some people not having close relationships with their cousins, as mine were the most valuable friends I’ve ever known. To this day, they remain my closest companions.

Emily seldom discusses her personal matters, but recently she’s openly expressed that she feels like a winner with the arrival of her child, further stating that she could not have endured the challenging labor without her companion by her side.

Last year, she shared with HELLO! magazine, “There isn’t a more suitable partner for me, and Al is the sole individual whom I could embark on this journey with.

After a long and challenging labor that lasted 12 hours, I needed an emergency C-section. Yet, throughout it all, he remained remarkably tranquil.

Emily also described Alistair as her ‘literal rock’ and can not picture her life with anyone else.

In the realm of personal experiences, let me tell you that the age-old adages of life truly resonate when you find yourself enamored and becoming a parent. My partner is not just my foundation, he is literally the bedrock upon which I build my life; I wouldn’t be able to navigate this beautiful journey without him by my side.

They shared that they’d dreamt about starting a family together after a year of being together, and she found out she was pregnant in November 2023, as she noticed she hadn’t gotten her monthly period.

She told The Times: ‘[Alistair] joked, “Let’s buy a pregnancy test then” We did and I was pregnant.

On that day, I experienced the best, most flawless moment of my life. Shortly thereafter, he gathered all his belongings in a van from the city where he resided, Manchester, and made his way to my home.

In simple terms, after this event, they purchased a home jointly, and it so happened that Barney showed up the day following their unpacking completion.

Emily is fortunate to have many cousins due to the extensive family trees on both sides, stemming from her famous parents, actress Kate and musician Keith Atack, who parted ways in 2007.

Alistair is the stepson of Jane, Kate’s sister, as they were married to each other. Sadly, Alistair’s father, Stephen Garner, died in the summer of 2023, which left his wife, Emily, heartbroken.
