Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse receives another disappointing update

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse spoilers follow.

Fans of Spider-Man have been dealt another blow, as the latest update about Beyond the Spider-Verse seems to be less than promising.

Initially planned for release on our screens in March 2024, the next installment has been postponed indefinitely because of the ongoing writers’ strikes.

Approximately two years after, Sony announced the official release date for the movie “Beyond the Spider-Verse” at CinemaCon. The studio confirmed that the film will hit theatres on June 4, 2027.

Although they had to endure a prolonged delay, enthusiasts were ultimately relieved to have a date to look forward to. Unfortunately, there’s been another setback as the animated film has once more been postponed.

As reported by Deadline, the film titled “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” is set to release on June 25, 2027, extending our waiting period by an additional three weeks.

In the upcoming chapter of our series, we find ourselves continuing the storyline post-“Across the Spider-Verse,” as our hero, Miles Morales, is forced to elude those pursuing him.

In the following story, Miles (played by Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (portrayed by Hailee Steinfeld) encounter a diverse group of Spider-characters, hailing from different dimensions in the multiverse. This assemblage forms what we now know as the Spider Society.

On an alternate Earth (Earth-19529), Miles finds himself stuck and without the aid of Spider-Man to combat crime. It turns out that his Uncle Aaron is the menace of the city, working in cahoots with The Prowler – who, it is revealed, is a counterpart of Miles himself.

Gwen gathers the remaining members of the Spider-Team, aiming to rescue her friend. However, the question remains whether they can locate Miles before it’s too late.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released in cinemas on 25 June, 2027.
